🗞 Gavin Wood On Polkadot, A Broken Internet, And The Future Of Crypto

Gavin Wood is somewhat of a controversial figure in the blockchain ecosystem. While the English computer scientist is famous for coding the first functioning implementation of Ethereum in January 2014 (PoC-1), inventing the Solidity contract programming language, and writing the highly technical Ethereum Yellow Paper, he is also infamous for leaving the Ethereum project to pursue a broader vision of the future.

🗞 Public or Private? Blockchain Distinctions Are Falling Out of Fashion

"Convergence" may mean different things to different people in blockchain, but it's a word that's appearing more and more in public rhetoric of late.

For some, it simply means that innovations developed on a public blockchain powered by a cryptocurrency can be leveraged on a private blockchain used by enterprises, and vice versa. But to others, the rise of the term shows that the lines between these categories, once starkly drawn, are starting to fade.

🗞 Spain Introduces Innovation-Aimed Crypto Regulation, But Political Unrest Might Cause a Setback

On May 30, the Spanish Congress unanimously supported draft legislation that would favorably regulate blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies in the country. While the move marks pro-crypto tendencies among local politicians, there are complications that the reform might stumble upon, namely EU compliance laws and the very recent overthrow of prime minister Mariano Rajoy.

🗞 Cryptocurrency Exchange Hitbtc Suspends Services in Japan

Hitbtc has suspended its services for Japanese residents to avoid any trouble with the country’s financial regulator since it is not authorized to operate in Japan. Users with Japanese IP addresses will be asked to provide their residency information within the exchange’s know-your-customer (KYC) procedure to prove they are not residents of Japan.

🗞 Meet the Dapp Market: A Twist On Open-Source Is Winning Developers

"[For the] entirety of the history of technology, open-source software developers have had to live like paupers."

While this is a bit of an exaggeration, Kevin Owocki has a point: making a living can be rough for developers of open-source software, that is, software for which the code is made freely available to use, modify and redistribute under licenses that mostly preclude hallmarks of ownership such as patent rights.

STEEM Trading Update by my friend @cryptopassion

Here is the chart of yesterday :

Here is the current chart :

As you can see, we had little moves UP but also DOWN and the result is that we are still sitting on our resistance line. We cannot consider these littles moves as a real break of that line and so we are still in a waiting mode to determine a direction. Patience is the key but stay also carefull because we could have a break out in both direction...
