🗞 The EOS Blockchain Launch: What Should Happen (And What Could Go Wrong)

The world's fifth most valuable cryptocurrency is set to formally release its software this weekend.

First announced in 2017, the EOS project has been fundraising for nearly a year, raising a reported $4 billion in what many are claiming is the largest amount ever collected by a team creating a custom cryptocurrency. As such, the launch, expected for Saturday, has come with no shortage of hype.

The fervor around the unveiling is, in part, due to the diverse discussions long surrounding the project. As detailed by CoinDesk, EOS has long been a target of criticism for its vision and execution, though it has attracted advocates who believe it offers a decentralized alternative to the cloud hosting services that currently dominate the lucrative market for data storage.

🗞 Norway’s Largest Bank to Explore Applications for IOTA’s Distributed Ledger Technology

DNB ASA (Den Norske Bank), Norway’s largest financial services group, and the IOTA Foundation (IOTA) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU), according to a press release May 31. DNB and IOTA will now reportedly cooperate to explore applications of the IOTA Tangle, a “third-generation” distributed ledger (DLT).

“Among other things, the technology is designed to handle hundreds of thousands of microtransactions per second. We will not let go of the market associated with this ecosystem that arises around these transactions.”

🗞 IMF Official: Central Banks Need to Compete With Crypto

A deputy director for the International Monetary Fund's Monetary and Capital Markets Department believes that central banks need to offer "better" fiat currencies in order to fend off any potential competition from cryptocurrencies.

The suggestions came in an article published Thursday, penned by deputy director Dong He. In that article – which boasts the tagline "Crypto assets may one day reduce demand for central bank money" – He argues that central banks may want to consider adopting some of the concepts in order to "forestall the competitive pressure crypto assets may exert on fiat currencies."

STEEM Trading Update by my friend @cryptopassion

Here is the chart of yesterday :

Here is the current chart :

The bounce after the little correction of yesterday happened but till now it is not yet powerfull enough to go test the resistance line at 2.55$. It looks like we have some difficulties to go higher than the previous top. This objective is now the first before going test the resistance line. If the BTC breaks its resistance line, I think that the STEEM will break our 2.55$ level also.
