CME Group Successfully Launched Its Bitcoin Derivatives Products

The largest options exchange in the world Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) has successfully launched its Bitcoin futures yesterday, December 18, 2017.

When CBOE's bitcoin futures was launch last week, volume was quite decent on the first day of trading but major derivatives players saw lack of liquidity after the January expiry of contracts.

CME, as having a much broader customer base will definitely increase liquidity at the same time make it easier for institutional traders to make longs and shorts.

CME Group's Bitcoin Real-Time Index (BRTI) comes from four crypto-exchanges namely GDAX, Bitstamp, Kraken and ItBit.

Winklevoss Twins Dares CEO of JPMorgan To Short Bitcoin

Bitcoin billionaires Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss challenged Jamie Dimon, JPMorgan CEO to short Bitcoin on futures market if he is confident that Bitcoin will fail in the long run.

Recently, CBOE was the first to launch Bitcoin futures trading which allows large-scale investors to invest in Bitcoin or short the cryptocurrency.

Jamie Dimon has been criticizing and condemning Bitcoin is a scam or a money laundering tool in the past few months.

Some analysts say that Dimon does not really believe Bitcoin is a scam but rather sees it as a major threat to his global banking business.

In that regard, the Winklevoss twins dared Dimon to bet against the cryptocurrency if he truly believes it will not succeed.
