Bithumb To Launch Social Media Crypto Payment System

The second largest cryptocurrency exchange in South Korea is Launching “Social Networking Sites Pay” (SNS Pay), a peer-to-peer payment platform for social media outlets and blogs.

The new payment platform will enable customers to purchase goods found in social media without having to search for online retail store that sells the product.

It is hoping to significantly improve conversion rates to actual purchases with the additional payment convenient and lower transaction cost.

Additionally Bithumb has partnered with Wincube, a Korean e-commerce site offering coupon services.

With this partnership the former will sell 12,500 kinds of mobile vouchers from 600 brand through gift certificates.

Currently Bithumb is trading 15 cryptocurrencies that can be used to purchase gift cryptocurrencies.

It believes that cryptocurrency now functions as “real money” out from an investment vehicle only phase.

Coinbase Hires Former Facebook and Twitter Executive As Communications VP

Crypto exchange upstart Coinbase has hired Rachel Horwitz, former Facebook and Twitter employee who has had high-level communications roles in the said social media outlets.

She will join Coinbase as the company’s Vice President for Communications.

She joins recent hires Emily Choi and Eric Scro, Corporate and business development VP and Finance VP respectively as well as Tina Bhatnagar as VP for Operations and Technology, this in line with their strategic focus on beefing up its customer service resources.

Bitcoin Mining Manufacturer To Seek An IPO In The US or Hong Kong

Chinese company Caan Creative Co. Ltd is considering to launch an Initial Public Offering in Hong Kong or the US.

This company is behind Avalon ASIC mining chips and equipment.

Difficulty and the time of getting stocks listed in mainland China are the main reason why the company is looking elsewhere. It further added that it may apply for a secondary listing in China.

Aside from an IPO the company plans to leverage its chip development know-how and capabilities by expanding their product lineup to include home appliances with cryptocurrency mining capabilities and IC chips used for Artificial Intelligence (AI).

National Constituent Assembly Of Venezuela Approves Degree On The Use Of Cryptocurrencies

After several declarations that “Petro,” the “oil-backed” currency illegal, the National Constituent Assembly has finally passed a draft Constituent Decree on crypt assets and the Petro.

The decree will serve as a basis for the regulations of cryptocurrencies as an alternative mechanism in commercial and financial activities.

Once implemented the President, Nicolas Maduro will have power for the organization, operations and issuance of Petro.

Gemini Launches Electronic Block Trading Facility

Bitcoin trading platform Gemini is launching its Block Trading Facility in line with their mission to continue to expand and improve their platform.

The trading facility is slated to be released on April 12, 2018 and go live at 9:30am ET.

Block Trades cater to customers, usually institutional investors, who want to buy or sell large quantities of digital assets which are sometimes outside open markets to avoid impact on the assets market prices.

This new facility will enable Gemini’s customers to make big trades outside of its order books.

Gemini is a New Yorked-based Bitcoin exchange founded by Harvard Alumni Winklevoss twin.

They found fame and fortune by suing Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg for stealing from them the original idea of the said social network.

They receive $65 Million from the case.
