Whether you are a computer programmer, a DJ, dog walker, acupuncturist or a carpenter you can use the WORX marketplace to create a listing telling the marketplace that you are for hire. You can also browse available listings to bid on jobs.

Let’s look at this from a real world perspective. Why do many people work for a company instead of starting their own business? Because dealing with people sucks, in plain English. Why be a carpenter and have to worry about getting paid by your customer in time to pay your mortgage? Working for a company has some advantages when it comes to stability, although you make way less money than you could working for yourself. Let’s say you are hired to build a deck, and you build that deck, then the customer decides not to pay, what do you do? Well you have to pay a lawyer to file a suit to hopefully get the court system to enforce your contract so that you may be able to possibly collect your money. If your argument is good enough and your lawyer does his job well then maybe after paying the lawyer you can still turn a small profit, if you’re lucky. This process sucks but it could be a thing of the past thanks to WORX. WORX cleans up this process by leveraging intelligent digital contracts that can protect the worker from this kind of situation, but that is not all that this company is going to do. Aside from the marketplace that will save job seekers or employers operating costs such as advertising, it will also provide tools that independent workers need such as tax recording, project management and financial tracking.

WORX will create a market place where workers can post their profiles (similar to Linked-In), and customers can browse to find qualified workers to perform work for them. It will allow all users the ability to filter by location, cost, expertise, etc. Aside from this WORX will score users by how well they meet goals and keep interactions on the up and up, similar to how bloggers are rated on Steemit.
So what does this look like to a worker trying to find work on WORX? Let’s say you are the contractor, someone wants to hire you to build them a house. Normally you would draw up a contract, take a deposit to cover the cost of the materials, to pay yourself and any workers for the first part of the project. Next you would specify another payment for a percentage of the total for the next milestone, this all sounds perfect right? Wrong, because when this next milestone is hit whats to stop them from not paying you? As I said before if they stiff you, now you are going to court and that whole song and dance. In the meantime, you have workers to pay, bills, a lawyer etc. As I said before even if you hire the lawyer there is still no way to know for sure that you will be paid or even turn a profit after paying the attorney. However, if you used WORX, a digital contract could be written to specify that $50,000 will be paid once the foundation is completed, $50,000 will be paid once the house is framed out and so on. The employer already put the total into the WORX platform to be held in escrow, so if they decide not to pay, their money is no longer in their possession. WORX in cases like this will assist with arbitration, this is a much cleaner process then getting the courts involved. Also let’s say you were hiring someone to develop an app that was your idea and they are from Japan, how could you involve the courts if you were from England? There is no need for a government to enforce a digital contract, math will govern the contract! if the work is not completed to the standards agreed upon, then the contractor will not be paid by the escrow funds and if the customer does not pay the contractor, his funds will be stuck in escrow the same way. This is a place where someone can bring their talents without fear of being taken advantage of, and customers can come to find an expert to perform work for them without fear of being ripped off. Experts will be rated on the work they perform and customer will be rated also by the work they have had done and how smoothly the process went. The WORX token will be the token that participants will use as escrow for the work they would like done.
How does WORX keep the marketplace running while charging job seekers and employers such minuscule fees? The funding from the investors and miners will be utilized to keep up with the marketplace along with all of the tools provided to users getting off the ground. WORX will offer a masternode to those who choose to support the infrastructure with a larger commitment and as such they will be rewarded. Tokens that offer a masternode are proven to have a more stable valuation. While many projects find support for their projects purpose like Ethereum, others find support just for their reward like (Vechain Thor), Very few projects fall into both categories giving masternode rewards while having such a noble and useful purpose like WORX.
If you think about this logically, you will see that this service will be valuable to both the vendor and the customer thereby making the token itself valuable. After several conversations with the WORX team, I took a position on the team as a promoter for this project. Since I have been a member of the Steemit community I have always given my honest opinion and I plan to continue to do so. I joined this team because I believe in the projects overall goal, the way Bitcoin aims to eliminate the banking system, WORX is trying to remove the court system from freelance market and that is something I can get behind. Not only do I love this project, but I plan on using the marketplace to earn extra money doing freelance work.
