Buddy! You're app development & deployment friend!

As technology becomes increasingly important and integrated into almost every facet of modern life the need for skilled labour in this sector has exploded. Developers are prized possessions, their understanding and their ability to create applications for business and consumer use make their time valuable and to get the best out of these users their toolkit needs to improve too. Taking away plenty of grunt work and allowing developers to focus on creatively solving problems helps drive innovation and speed of iteration and thus giving us better products in a shorter amount of time.

There are plenty of companies the world over focusing on improving developer toolkits and allowing them the best testing environments in order to run multi-layered applications in the fastest time possible. These companies charge you large fees for access to their environments and many simply don't see the value in it which creates a large market of unserviced clients. While those who are being serviced make up a $110 Billion market so that's a sizeable piece of the market for an improved scalable solution to disrupt, which is exactly what Buddy aims to do!

Blockchain based development

Blockchain development is naturally a hot topic and been an industry buzzword for the past few years now. More and more funds are being pushed into these kinds of projects because of the potential value generation it can provide and thus talent needs to move into this space in order to develop these solutions.

However talented developers are not about to jump ship for a large salary if they're not given the tools they need to 1, build products and 2 reduce the learning curve when focusing on a new technology.

Offering developers the chance to work with a tool that can provide all the necessary enivronmetns, support and even leaning on the strength and expertise of developers around the world, you can surely see the attraction in wanting to get involved as a software engineer.

Attracting top talent

Lets face it the top talent is not about to do grunt work and if they are, they're going to charge you a pretty penny for it, so why would you want to waste their time on getting foundational issues sorted when they should be focusing on strategic issues that will create unique selling points for your next product.

As a business you need to think strategically about how you get the best out of your talent, perhaps you only have them for a few years before they move on, how do you ensure their time at your company is invaluable to you? You make sure they focus on key issues that will help build your business. So how does Buddy achieve that? Its power lies in its modular automation and developer toolkit.

Automation & developer tools

Buddy has seen the need for optimisation in the development space and to reduce devs need to constantly reinvent the wheel every time a new project is started. Buddy has thus built automation scripts to assist developers working on blockchain projects which you will have access to when developing on the platform! These are maintenance and deployment tools that will cut developer time spent on repetitive tasks and have them focus solely on critical project work.

But it doesn't stop there, Buddy also offers developers access to the automation marketplace. Which is essentially a candy store for web developers. There is a selection of automation scripts, free and premium, that developers can use to automate all types of tasks, cutting down development time and reducing needs for long drawn out sprints!

To encourage constant improvments to the automation marketplace developers can also submit their own scripts and earn. These exchanges are facilitated by the BUD token, which incentivizes an economy for developers to purchase and sell automation scripts. So developers can interact with one another and sell each other scripts in an open and decentralised environment.

Will it be my buddy?

While I am no blockchain developer I can appreciate the concept buddy is trying to put forward. Blockchain is by no means ready for mass consumer use yet as we've seen with the scaling issue and while projects are working hard on alternatives to solve this, they will need to refine their tools first. Projects like Buddy will play an integral role in helping blockchain projects, firstly become more accessible, easier to implement and interegrate with existing stacks and help encourage trail and adoption of the technology.

As blockchain becomes more popular and more money gets pumped into the space developers and companies will look for solutions that will get them up to par faster. If they can prove to be developers and companies that buddy is the ideal option we could see a project like this become the AWS or Azure of its market.

It really is an exciting space to play in and while more blockchain projects are targetting consumer-facing solutions, the one who targets their backend solutions may be the big winner as consumer-facing solutions continue to pop up and fail at an alarming churn rate.
