I have always liked the concept behind decred, though I would caution against anyone acquiring decred from Coinbase, I recently had my account hacked and my lifes savings stolen and Coinbase's response was too bad deal with it. And I havent been the only one who has been hacked recently. Here is the post about it, I am trying to warn as many people as possible, a lot of people have more than a bitcoin at stake. https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@sensatus/if-you-have-a-coinbase-account-beware-spread-the-word-fellow-steemians-and-cryptotraders
i've heard some stories about coinbase but they still remain among the more reliable exchanges in my opinion. That being said I use Gemini.com as my main fiat entry point. So far they have been 100% problem free. Also You can't get Decred on coinbase anyway, or GDAX. Bittrex would be my first choice. Keep in mind all exchanges are having problems for the most part due to an unexpectedly massive increase in users. It's going to be shaky everywhere for a while. If you have an substantial investment it is highly advised to never keep your coins on an exchange. You have got to have a local wallet and you have got to move those coins off the exchange each night. Best way is to do it via Ethereum so you don't get killed by fees or slow transactions.
I had 7 ethereum and .52 btc that I was planning to move to a cold wallet as soon as coinbase would let me, which was about a day after the hack took place.
when you say you were hacked do you mean someone got your password and logged into your account? were you using 2FA?
Someone sim swapped me, rendering my text 2FA irrelevant and then used my cell phone number to reset my gmail password, and then using my gmail account to reset my coinbase password.
how do you get so many comment upvotes so quickly,?
Dude I have no clue, maybe I said like a secret word or somethin

Interesting post. Same mindset here. Not sure if I believe in the current crypto investment climate but I do believe in the blockchain. We do need to look better at the insights of every coin. What team is behind it, is there any management. How strong is the product, is there any product at all? Does anyone know about: https://www.coincheckup.com Supposingly they researched every crypto coin in the scene based on: the team, the product, advisors, community, the business and the business model. They even score the coins stengths. Check for example: https://www.coincheckup.com/coins/Decred#analysis For a complete Decred Report
