Ellyse Perry
One and only female sports person who played both Soccer and Cricket World-Cup.
She’s one of the greatest athletes Australia have produced and needs to be celebrated more. Just finished with 70 not out right now against India .Ellyse was the exception in modern day and was told to either quit football or cricket entirely a couple of years ago to focus on one. Ellyse is also arguably the best player in the Aussie cricket team with bat and ball, while she was a fairly inconspicuous defender in football and not considered elite the way she is in cricket.She no longer plays football for Australia.I think money wise its the correct decision. Due to there being more attention on women's cricket I assume the players are paid more than in women's soccer.None in recent times has been anywhere near as dominant as her in both sports.
Sir Viv Richards is also said to have played in the 1974 FIFA world cup qualifiers for Antigua and Barbuda.
The 1973 CONCACAF Championship doubled as the qualifiers for the 1974 World Cup, so the previous round of World Cup qualification was the qualifiers for that Championship.
These were the first four international matches played by Antigua and Barbuda.
1974 was the first time Antigua and Barbuda played qualifiers and lost all 4 games conceding 22 goals, scoring 3 goals. so they didn't make it to the world cup.
