Analysis of Contests: Report #03
It is the end of the Season 07 Steemit Engagement Challenge. We had a good season again and it is evident by now this initiative is a very successful one. Steemit team has called the application for Season 08.
The platform is experiencing a surge in contest participation & organizers, with an average of 100 active participants daily. Despite this success, certain contests remain challenged in attracting significant participation.
To gain a clearer understanding of contest engagement, I’m introducing a new initiative that provides a comprehensive overview of contest participation, focusing particularly on the impact of new contests with novel themes on overall contest participation. Let us take a closer look at the data from the previous week.

◼️ Across all communities, a total of 670 participations were recorded for week 05. Compared to the previous weeks, we can notice a recognizableincrease in participation for the fifth week.
06th FERUARY STATS
On February 06th (Monday), a total of 13 contests reached their expiration date. Out of these contests, the highest number of participants were recorded in a photography contests, with a total of 18 contenders. On the other hand, the contests with the least number of participants only had 2 contenders. On the whole, there were 88 entries recorded on February 06th, resulting in an average of 7 entries per contest.

On February 07th (Tuesday), a total of 12 contests reached their expiration date. Out of these contests, the highest number of participants were recorded again in photography contests, with a total of impressive 24 contenders in each for top 2. On the other hand, the contests with the least number of participants only had 2 contenders. On the whole, there were 111 entries recorded on February 07th, resulting in an average of 9 entries per contest.

Out of these contests, the highest number of participants were recorded in a newly organized number guessing contest, with a total of 27 contenders. On the other hand, the contest with the least number of participants only had 02 contenders. On the whole, there were 93 entries recorded on February 09th, resulting in an average of 16 entries per contest.

Once again the highest number of participants were recorded in the guessing contest, with a total of 27 contenders again. Opinion News who had the least participant decided to stop the contest from this week onward. On the whole, there were 166 entries recorded on February 10th, resulting in an average of 12 entries per contest.

On February 12th (Sunday), a total of 14 contests reached their expiration date. Again we have the highest number of participants for the Guessing Number, with a total of 23 contenders. There were 03 contests that attracted only 07 contenders, Surprisingly they are photography contests!. On the whole, we have perfect 100 entries end this week, resulting in an average of 07 entries per contest.

SUMMARY
Note: The below stats do not include the Steemit Engagement Challenge data.
A total of 86 contests reached the deadline by 12th February .
During the week, there were a total of 776 contest submissions which is 7.6% increase from the previous week.
The average number of entries per contest for this week is 09, matching the exact figures for the last week.
Newly organized guessing a number comment contests rock this week with the highest level of participation among all the contests. Let's see whether contenders have same motivation for the coming week as well.
I hope contest organizers, curation teams & Steemit team find this information helpful in getting a better idea of contests and the overall environment. And for the organizers, if a certain idea isn't quite hitting the mark, there's always the opportunity to come up with something new and exciting!
