Poets United Presents : Most Charitable (MC) Poetry Contest #1: Resurrection !!! <How Much The Best Poet Can Rise?>
@run-the-bits back with the first-ever SPU Poetry Contest for Charity! First off, we're retooling the contest to support both @SirCork 's @youarehope initiative AND minnow poets (under 50SP) here on Steemit. I know it's been a minute, but a lot of great things have been going on behind the scenes here at SPU. Read on for more on the contest's changes...
This week is:
RECREATORS - link to or include a poem you've written in the past. Then create a new poem inspired by it. The recreations need to be substantially additive or transformative; recreate, don't rewrite.

Rules

The post's title must include either: "Most Charitable Poetry #1" or "SPU Poetry MC #1" + POEM TITLE
Use #poetsunited as the FIRST tag.
You only have to use the #yourarehope tag to be eligible for Most Charitable and you don't have to use it to donate any portion of payout or amount you desire.
You don't have to donate...minnows, new to Steemit especially, are welcome to enter for the prize pool.
Copy the link to your poem, and post it in the comments below.
Entry Deadline: 1 week from this post (On Sunday, May 20th).
New contest once every TWO weeks. Donations will be verified in the week after this post's payout and must be made before the next contest's announcement.
You must also respect Steemit rules! No plagiarism allowed. If you use photos or pictures in your post, make sure you're allowed to use them and to source the content. Any rule-breaking will be noted and the entry will not be accepted.

Lol will we have even one poet willing to write for charity .... It is obvious here on steemit everyone is after the money...which they never had for their stupid writings ... Obviously no one wants to give back only to take away ... Well this really shows what kind of people there are here .... My two cents .... God Bless You all.. and may he put some Brain and Heart into your empty greedy heads ....
I disagree, as I have met a number of people on Steemit working toward charitable ends, and I for one would have no problem writing for charity.
I have, in fact, done so in the past, though not on Steemit. But then, I have over 50 SP, and so don't qualify for the prize pool anyway. ;-)
Well contest is not only for people under 50sp only for them we give prizes ... I was hoping there are more people who would embrace the idea :P but obviously no one does :P The idea was that more established poets here on steemit will make entries and get good payouts to give for the charity well. I guess everyone always talks about prizes ... :)
Never say never. You may still get a number of entries prior to the cut off, and I intend for mine to be one of them. And, keep in mind, that poets often enter at the last possible moment, myself included. ;-)
Good luck with the contest, and I think it's a great idea, that will grow over time as more and more people find out about it!
Meanwhile, I just resteemed this post, so hopefully that will gain you at least a few new eyes.
Thanks :) It will be lovely to have at least one entry :) Thanks for the Resteem. Yep we hope to have bigger success in the future :) Hopefully we will see how it goes. I will try to write myself an entry too if I get the time for it as lately I have been super busy with moving to another place and that takes all of my efforts lately ...

One given with a haiku, for any longer poem, there is no choice but to rewrite, as there is too little to do anything else with it in the first place. ;-)
