Mammal Photography Contest: 15 Steem and upvotes in prizes!
Hi there my Steemian friends and followers!
Following the epic success of the Cat Photography Contest that received over 200 comments and dozens of amazing entries last month, I am here with another round of my animal photo challenge :)
I am slowly running out of the themes as I have been hosting this challenge for some time already but there are still several categories left and in this round, we will take a closer look at mammals!
Mammals are a very large class of animals so you should´t have troubles finding some entries but since the last two rounds of this photo challenge were dedicated to dogs and cats respectively, let´s exclude those two this time ;)
As usually, let me now give you some inspiration by sharing some of my photos of mammals that I have taken during my travels.

As for the format of the photo contest, there is a little change in the prizes. Instead of SBI shares, you will be competing for "hard cash" which is, in our case, Steem, of course :)
There will be 5 winners who will get 5 Steem, 4 Steem, 3 Steem, 2 Steem and 1 Steem respectively and there will also be 5 runners-up who will get my full upvotes on their entries, which means that as many as 10 participants will be rewarded.
In the last round, we even had one unexpected, generous sponsor who rewarded all participants with some tokens tradeable on the Steem Engine so maybe, this round will come with some surprise too. Who knows :)
The rules of the photo contest remain unchanged and simple:
1) Only 1 entry (photo) per person.
2) Only your own photo.
3) Add a short description to the photo (at least 20 words please).
Upvotes and resteems are not required but will be appreciated of course since I am, as always, funding the prizes from my own pocket.
As I am expecting a great response to the contest again, I might ask some new participants to prove their ownership of the submitted entries in case of doubt to keep the contest as fair and honest as possible.

This is the only photograph of a big sized wild mammal I have ever made :) The Mediterranean monk seal ... I saw it just once, early in the morning a few summers ago ...
... the photograph was taken early in the morning in Istra peninsula, northern Adriatic, Croatia. I was sitting on the pebbles, doing nothing, just watching the sea and enjoying the place ... when the seal appeared from the water ... it seemed that this was his --- or her .. favorite beach that morning and even with me present there, there is no chance that the seal will give up that little bay ... I took a few shots and continued along the coast to see what else that extraordinary day will bring ...
There you go :) I knew you would come up with a great entry ;) Must have been a truly unforgettable encounter.

I visited my father-in-law in the mountain part of Panabo City Philippines last February 2019. Along the way, I saw the cow owned by my sister-in-law. She has 7 cows bit I only saw one of those 7 cows.

A beautiful wallaby, seen in the Australia Zoo in Queensland. We had one of these in our Garden as well but the photo isn´t as good as this one.

You could not get any more intimate then this with these beautiful baby Elephants when my lady friend from Austria came to visit me in Thailand we headed out to Phuket and one of her dreams was to get close and swim with the Elephants and her dream came true when we visited an Elephant camp in Phuket where the Elephants are loved and care for. What an exciting moment for my lady friend just having a bath with friends...lol 🤭 👍 🤣

One day, some time ago, I discovered a fox nest. It was actually quite close to our house. I have photographed many things that can be found in nature, but this was a totally new experience for me.

My two cutest pals my nephew and his Pony Charlie my nephew is now 12 years old and Charlie the sweet little friendly pony is 6 years old he came into my nephews life when my nephew was only eight years old. They live on a farm property just outside of Sydney in Australia every afternoon after my nephew has completed his school homework he will go down to the paddock and they will take each other for a ride around the farm area they really enjoy each others company if my nephew could have Charlie sleeping in his bedroom he would....lol .... and till this day they still get on like a house on fire :))

And to think I almost missed this one! 🙂 The only problem then was which photo to choose! And here goes my pic: a toque macaque, Macaca sinica, photographed near Sigiriya, in Sri Lanka. This species is endemic to the country... and they have the coolest hairstyle I've ever seen!
