Hello everyone !

So here we go finally with the announcement of the winners of the INK ART CONTEST

Which ran from Friday 15 March 2019 to Friday 29 March 2019, Korean Standard Time.

RULES

1. New art only. The illustrations must be made for the purpose of this contest.
2. Creation Process to be included.
3. Each artist may submit up to 3 entries.
4. Must be uploaded through nTopaz contest page at https://www.ntopaz.com/contest/43
5. Keep it safe for work. NSFW entries will NOT be accepted.
6. If you rely on reference to produce your work, please cite your source.

My apologies there was a mistake on the Prizes values in the contest announcements, these bellow are the correct values.

Many really good artworks got disqualified for not following the contest rules ☹️, which is a real shame...not sure if there was some words lost in the translation to Korean given that most of those cases were from Korean speaking participants.

Well just to give a bit of insight which criteria used for choosing the winners.

1.- Originality, original content will be getting priority over Fan Art, not mentioning that any case of plagiarism is immediately disqualified.
2.- Skill, those artworks that show great skill in the use of Ink or high contrasts (for digital) to render the image and transmit information, as well as the composition of the image where are the dark parts and lights to create a visually pleasing piece.
3.- Creation Progress, it generally helps to value more the artwork if we can see or get a clue of how it was created.
4.- First Impression, when the images catches the attention upon first sight, this might be determined by skill as well but in a more subjective level, those artworks that I find attractive will no doubt have my preference.

This is a very beautiful artwork, great technique with watered Ink, the monkey looks well proportioned, however the lack of a better documented creation progress prevented it from getting in higher ranking.

Very nice portrait it does capture very well the essence of the model however the shading looks too smudged and kinda make it lose some of it's beauty in general.

This is a nice digital Ink Art, simple but good, of course I liked a lot more aaronhong other entries but those were disqualified for not including creation process or were old art, a shame cause the Linkin Park portraits were really amazing.

This one is quite nice, I do like the use of red as contrasting field that helps to define more the figure of the woman, probably if it would have been more worked on and polished it could have made it to the Runner Ups, its good work still

Ah the raven, the creation process is really great and I liked the line art, however I feel the watered ink painting lacked a bit of control, perhaps it would have looked better with some better preservation of whites.

This is another one I liked a lot, the line art is superb, creation process is a delight to watch, really great drawing although a bit small and well the ones I chose as Runner Ups had a bigger scope or impact in my mind. None the less excellent job.

Ah I love Akira animated Film and I couldn't avoid but like this piece, which is really well done, lines looks very well worked with appropriated width changes, the only reason this didn't won first place is because I liked more the other.

This is simply gorgeous, look at that beetle!, also found very original the idea of using white gel/ink over black surface, this almost nearly wins however when I wanted to see the creation process it was a little incomplete compared to the winner's one so that's why it made it only to the Runner Ups, awesome art Tais!

Ah this is my favourite of all! the watered ink is perfect, the contrast values are really well done, it really shows the artist was aware of what he was doing and the creation process GIF, is just amazing to watch it from sketch to watered ink portrait. Excellent artwork Bidesign 🙌
