CONTEST CLOSED: New SBI contest, 3 shares on offer, Steem Bounty for all entrants

in contest •  8 days ago

I would like to offer you all a new @steembasicincome contest. 3 shares in the program will be sponsored on a winner takes all basis. If you don't know what SBI is, I suggest reading some of their posts and finding out. Basically an up-vote forever on your posts (long story short)

In order to enter this contest, you need to create your own post. In it you shall:

  • link to this post.
  • Write at least 150 words on why you are steeming now. We all come for the money, I am guessing, but why are you still here. There is a bit of a glum mood around about the state of crypto, and the price of STEEM. I am hoping for some positive stories about what keeps you Steeming, and where you see things going from here.
  • Upvote and resteems are not needed (but would be nice).
  • Once you have created your post, come back here and drop a link to it in the comments.
  • I will place a 1 STEEM bounty on the post. ALL valid entries will receive a vote on your comment here, and a share of the bounty. Any in-valid entries will be advised and may edit to become valid. General comments like "nice post" or whatever will not be voted and will not share the Bounty.

The winner of the 3 SBI shares will be selected randomly from all valid entries.

So, not only will you get a share of the #steembounty at post payout, you will also get the payout of your post plus a chance to win 3 shares in the SBI program.

What are you waiting for...

An Example,

Ok, If I was entering, here is what I would write:

Since arriving to Steemit, and the STEEM blockchain, my motivation and goals have changed a little over time. I started out with the goal of trying to learn how it all worked, and make a bit of money to take out and invest elsewhere in crypto. I didn't realise the long term potential here, and the power of finding communities and groups that interest you.

Now, I am still here for the money, but with a different purpose. I want to build up my account, build up my SP, and increase my post payouts. But more than that, I want to contribute to the communities I am involved in, and make a difference in some small way to people that need a hand. The biggest drawcard on the horizon is the introduction of SMT's. I believe this will be a game changer, and fuel massive growth in the STEEM ecosystem.

Imagine a time when STEEM price is climbing, and you also earn other tokens on top of the STEEM, SP and SBD you get now. The community drawcard will be huge, and engagement and involvement will go through the roof. If this planning comes to fuition, STEEM will be THE place to be, and those of us already here will have first seats at the table.

I would hate to miss out on that by giving up on STEEM now.

That is what I would write if I was entering. That is 250 words to give you a guide.

Now over to you.

Learning how to blog, and build networks and communities is a great reason to keep going. Before I started here, I had never even considered blogging... ever. Predicting prices and how the markets will move is beyond me also, I just know that this crypto ecosystem feels like the future, it feels like we are moving forward, ahead of the game so to speak.

Thanks for your very thoughtful entry.

·

2. @rjoshicool.

Very nice post, It certainly is a better option here than other sites. Getting paid to share our knowledge or opinions is nice :)

·
·

thanks a lot!

·

8. @the-witty-waiter.

I have also found that since joining here, I have spent far less time (almost none) on other social media sites. As you say, the click bait aspect is one I certainly don't miss. Hopefully this slump will turn around soon, and we can see where the future is headed here.

Thanks for joining in my contest.

·

18. @tomgodswill

It has been a common theme through many of the entries in this contest that steeming is about more than the money. The knowledge, the community and the interesting content is definitely worth being here for, STEEM payouts or not. Thank you for entering and best of luck.

Superb contest. Check my entry I tried to be honest&fun:

https://steemit.com/steemit/@pocketrocket/why-am-i-steemin

·

Hi @pocketrocket. Very nice entry, unfortunately its just a little short. You are welcome to edit your post and add another sentence or two in to get over the line on the minimum word count.

·
·

Will do it. Thanks for letting me know!

·

11. @pocketrocket

Excellent, you are now in the draw. You are very right, there are many forward thinking and progressive people on here. We are a part of the future.

Thanks for entering my contest.

·
·

Thank you for helping me out. You see another good feature ;)

·

16. @ritxi

Thanks for entering, more shares in SBI is always better. You are right, even at these lower STEEM prices, the rewards here are still better than on most other sites. Unless you get millions of views on Youtube, there isn't a lot of other options allowing for earning anything much. Good luck for the draw which will happen in a bit over 24 hours from now.

·
·

You are right. Thanx ritxi

·

17. @nera0503

Thanks, you are definitely not too late to enter. Will accept entries up to post payout. Your post is inspiring. The plan that your STEEM account is your savings plan for your 5 month old baby, that is an awesome motivation to keep steeming. Hopefully, as your accounts SP grows over time, you will have something to help your family have a better life. Congratulations, a most worthy motivation.

·
·

Thank you so much. I hope that my story will help to motivate other too.

Hope this contest still applies.
@jk6276, Thanks for this awesome contest.
In this way, many peoples can express their original feeling about steemit.

·

15. @ashikstd

Thanks for your entry @ashikstd. I think hope is what is keeping most of us going at the moment. We are looking at the price of STEEM continuing to slide and wondering when the turnaround will kick in. Hopefully soon, and we can watch STEEM head in the right direction.

·
·

yeah i'm hoping that time would come sooner.

My goals on Steemit

Great initiative, I think this can motivate a lot of people for keep writing.

·

14. @ropaga

Hi, it is a very good place to work on your English. As for your payouts dropping, I think most people are having the same thing, as STEEM drops and SBD stops, we all have to adjust.

Thanks for entering my contest.

@jk6276, First of all i want to appreciate your work because you've come up with effective contest and these kind of contests are really important for the Engagement Levels.

And in my opinion everyone have some aspects which boost people to continue on one particular path and Steemit is nothing different for sure.

And current Crypto Sphere is really depressed but we have to have faith and we have to continue our journey because after tough times we get good times to see.

Kindly find my piece below for this contest.

Wishing you an great day and stay blessed. 🙂

·

12. @chireerocks

Nice entry, thank you. So many people have put a lot of thought into these entries, Its awesome. I enjoyed reading your "Own opinionated thoughts" and particular mention to what you say about creativity, thats a big thing for me too as my day to day life doesn't really give me much chance to be creative, so steeming is a great way to see what I can create.

Thanks for entering.

·
·

Thank you so much for your kind words and welcome. 🙂

The following is my entry: https://steemit.com/community/@sumatranate/why-do-i-keep-steeming

I was one of those people who came for the money but stayed because of the people. I love the complexity of our community and the platform.

·

13. @sumatranate.

The platform is definitely complex, no doubt about it. Your thoughts about Steeming as a form of free therapy resonate with me. A number of my posts have been thought processes that I would never normally articulate or share with anyone, and It has been quite an interesting release to put them out here. Regardless of if anyone even reads them or engages with the post, it is still nice to release.

·

10. @hairyfairy

Hi, nice to meet you. Given that English is difficult for you, you did very well. Finding, or building a community to support each other is definitely key around here, without it makes it so hard to get ahead.

Thank you for your entry, and many thanks for sharing my post with the Czech community.

·
·

Thank you for kind words.

My entry : https://steemit.com/contest/@joanstewart/26-moons-celebration-entry-sbi-contest-by-jk6276

Thanks for reminding me @reonlouw

Appreciate the contest @jk6276 arrived on the right day, made for good memories.

·

7. @joanstewart.

Thanks for joining in my contest, its nice to meet you. Learning is definitely something you can do (in fact probably have to do) around here. As you say, not just about STEEM and crypto, but also the world in general. There is so much we can learn from each other, and this place truly is border-less. Congrats on the 26 moons celebration also.

·
·

Thanks for the kind words, found it difficult to wrap into 150 words, when you really think about why we do what we do.

Congrats on running a good thought provoking topic, enjoyed reading many of the entrants from this contest, keep up the good work @jk6276

·

9. @kimbygrr

You make a great point about all the different Dapps meaning we have access to a version of all the different social media sites in one place. The flexibility and open source nature here certainly is creating plenty of variety. I am seeing many people in your country have an opportunity to make a better life and even survive a bit more comfortably due to STEEM and different communities here.

I appreciate your post and entry in my contest.

·
·

Yes, even right now that Steem is on red numbers, still helps because is another way to make some money where the minimum salary is about 3$ to 5$.

Personally, I've hold everything I've earned here. My job and other things I do on the web leaves me enough to buy the food, litter and others things to my cat and sometimes buy cash dollars. This will be like my savings account: only for emergencies!

Hope there aren't any.

·
·
·

Building up a "savings account" here is a good plan. Surely this current price drop will end soon, and short term sacrifices will be rewarded.

·
·
·
·

Let's hope that!

·

5. botefarm

Thanks for entering my friend. You are right, there is so much crypto information available here. It doesn't matter what area interests you, you can find someone that knows a lot about it. I really hope the markets turn and progress continues for your sake, and the many others for whom STEEM has become an important part of their lives.

Here is my entry: https://steemit.com/steem/@frdem3dot0/why-i-am-still-steeming

Thanks for creating this contest

·

4. @frdem3dot0

Lack of censorship is a great reason to be here. There is way too much going on in the world that we don't hear about, or only hear a lopsided view of. Independant thinking and freedom of expression are most certainly ideals worth fighting for, and STEEM provides a unique platform for those ideals to be put in to practice.

Great post, thanks for entering.

·

3. @improv.

Thanks for joining my contest and I love combined posts. I wish I could come to your party but 10,000 miles is a bit far to travel.

I couldn't agree more that shared financial struggles is a strong common bond for many of us steeming. I hadn't really thought about it that way, but In one way or another, we all (especially us planktons and minnows) are here because we need more money for one reason or another. That gives us all a common link and a co-operative attitude I would like to think.

@jk6276 has set 1.000 STEEM bounty on this post! logo_for-light-bg_1000.png
What is a bounty exactly?

A bounty is money sent to a post to be distributed to the users commenting on it. It provides a way to reward users directly and works in addition to the steem/sbd they receive from the blockchain. It works independently of SteemPower.

You create a bounty by sending any amount of sbd/steem to @steem-bounty together with a post-url in the memo.

How can I earn a bounty Users are then competing for the bounty by writing their answers to the post in comments that will achieve upvotes from the community and especially the bounty creator. The money of the bounty gets distributed to all top level comments of the post at the same time when the post is paid out (7 Days after it was written). How much everyone gets depends on the votes the comments received. The sender of the bounties votes are weighted higher so that she decideds where 80% of the bounty money goes and all other votes determine the rest.

@steem-bounty does all of this for you automatically. You can use this service to automatically pay out a challenge, ask a hard question or simply to reward the people that interact with you.

Read more about how it works, even in different languages here.

Are you interested in co-sponsorship (I currently co-sponsor a contest by @improv and one by @coinsandchains) that will add to your rewards?

All the best!

Hi @freedomshift. I'd love that. Gotta go to work now but what do you have in mind? Maybe a second prize?
