OUR EXPERIENCES

In 2016 Kamile and I understood we were unhappy. This is when we realized we need something new in our lives. Both of us quit our jobs, I sold my car and started our 11-month journey. With almost empty pockets we hitchhiked from Lithuania to Iran, volunteered in Nepal, hitchhiked from Thailand to Singapore, spent one month in Indonesia and so on. I wouldn't have been possible to do this without the help of the people we met along the way. Some of them gave us a lift, some of them shared some food, some of them offered a place to rest for a day or two. There are so many good people everywhere...

TURKEY

We met these guys in Nevsehir, Turkey. This man with Lithuanian flag accepted hosting us. The funny thing is that instead of 2 days we spent 8 days with him and his friends. Every day he insisted we stay for another day or two saying "Tomorrow my cousin will come... You must meet him... Then you can go", "Tomorrow we will have a picnic with my friends... You can leave after that..." For eight days we learned about each others culture, discussed the meaning of the life and so on. After a long journey, those days were refreshing to the body and soul...

HUNGARY

It was the first or second week since we left home. We were hitchhiking from Debrecen (Hungary) to Oradea (Romania). Around 20 km to the Romanian border this guy stopped. His name was Istwan. After hearing our story he told us "I have a lot of money in my pocket... It's not safe, because I might lose it. I will better give it to my mother. We can visit her and after that, I will take you to Oradea." We ended up spending 3 days with him and his family. We have a saying in Lithuania that some people are "simple like 2 kopeks (Russian version of cents)". Istwan was one of them. He was super hospitable and he had an amazing sense of humor. It was nice to sleep in a real bed after a few nights in a tent. When the time came to say goodbye his mom gave us 3 kilos of sausages, a few loaves of bread and a jar of honey. :DDD

IRAN

This guy on the left is Mehdi. We met him in Zanjan, Iran. Mehdi was sorry he couldn't host us, but he offered us to come with him and his friends to the Northern part of Iran. One guy from Kuwait joined us along the way. We spent a few days with complete strangers and rialised that hospitality of Iranians is out of this world. One month in this country was probably the best time of my life...

GOOD LUCK GUYS

If we like your story we will definitely follow you!

Sylhet is a unique gift of nature,
First, you go to Jaflong, enjoy, zero point, two fountains, as well. Khasia Palli (good for not getting reserve auto), Khajia Palli does not see anything in Rajbari, then Sylhet Aslam, Hotel Auction, # Southcity, At Kadamtali bus stand, the royal hotel room, 4, at the price of 1200, there was no advance booking, two days passed by night, go to the brokers and brokers, there are people who are kept hostage by a hostage, but We are brokers To buy from the side of the food side by boat 500 rupees, 1200 on the other side, local police must do something, by compulsing to collect money from the tourists, then after the CNG, in the Khadimnagar tea garden park.
IMG_20180510_210503.jpg
By the way, the road to the pavement, quietly, in a quiet place, could not be understood, but the road was not good.Still, it's got a lot of fun, and a little more than the price of food, the next Green Gates Hotel Shah Mazar is an assumption its beef biryani only 130. This got a lot cheaper. And everything costs more. Without any kind of error in Sylhet, we won't listen, c n g ate after midnight, ghureshi, with four, has been spending more than their money every time I want to 3400, ate, went through a lot of things, events, more money, just have fun and is less , So go in Rai, but be careful if any people say let's forget all the systems I have and I will not, in themselves, even if the mistake was no mistake, well, so can water as dry weather of Sylhet, of course, mineral water, and we took some medicine for primary treatment I was, like napa, seclo, matril, etc.

Feeling blessed.

Once when my family was headed to a different state then we live in to see a doctor for my wife.(about 1000 miles or1600km) On the way there my car started shaking a little. I pulled over to check out what was going on. But I couldn't see anything that was wrong. So we continued on our way and the shaking continue but it didn't get any worse. We were on our way to take my wife to have a surgery to help her live a better life. We didn't have a lot of extra time and so I couldn't stop anywhere to have them look at the car. We made it all the way to the hospital and she was able to have the surgery. However on our way home, we discovered the cause of the shaking. As I was driving along, all of the sudden the car started pulling real hard to the left and making a weird noise. I pulled the car off of the road and discovered that my tire had came apart and was flat. No big deal right? I open the trunk to get the spare out, and that is when I discovered that it was also flat. So here I was 500 miles (800km) from home, no friends or family and a wife who was not in good shape because she had just had a surgery. And now we were stuck on the side of the road. This was a long time ago, and we didn't have cell phones. So we were kind of just stuck. So I got out of the car and put the head up so that people would know we needed help. I bet you that we only sat there for 10 minutes before somebody stopped. After I told them about what was going on they quickly offered my wife and I have a ride to get the spare tire aired up. However, due to her condition and how small their car was we would not both easily fit. They offered for just me to come but I did not want to leave my wife by herself. At this point I was thinking I would just have to wait until another opportunity before I could get help. And that is when they said that they would take our spare tire to the gas station and fill it up with air and then bring it back to us! I thought what an amazingly kind gesture. So I gladly gave them my spare tire and they disappeared. They were gone about a half an hour before they return. And when they did return they had my spare tire filled up. The guy even stuck around long enough to help me put it on the car. We then took off after thanking the man and continued on our way home. Great people are everywhere. And I am always so thankful for them! Thanks for this contest and the chance to give recognition to the people who have helped us during our lives. I'm sorry that I don't have a photo, this happened over 20 years ago. And I didn't take any pictures back then and even if I did I probably wouldn't know where they're at today. There's always my friend I hope all is good for you guys. And I hope you're enjoying the new place. Send all of my love your way.

We were at Gir Jungle of Gujarat India of July 2010 and monsoon was on its peak. We have a Jeep travelling van for the Safari visit which was acclaimed by the driver and tour operator to be most dependable vehicle for the safari.

Me and my wife were travelling with 1 more guide and the driver. All of sudden the spring of the Jeep was broken and nearby garage and automobile shop was almost 26 kilometers away. And no other vehicles was passing by and no network coverage in any cellular network (Not even for SOS)

That was miserable time as it was almost 6:00 pm and the jungle was dark with the wild animals in it like Lions, leopards and hyenas. We were stuck and no one can alone go on walk to bring the help and if both of them go we can die by fear only.

And suddenly a local person come on walk as he was called as "Maldharis" who reside within jungle with small houses colony of 3/4 houses called "Nesda" or "Nes" and he taken both of us to his house and we send both driver and guide to bring help.

In that dark jungle we were in middle of the jungle and they host us for full night stay. with delicious authenticate gujarati food.

God bless them.

(As nothing remembered at the time to take snaps couldnt accompany any photos)

Hey I am from Gir region of Gujarat your story is very try because we seen this kind of situations so many times in Gir jungle. Generally Gir us closed in monsoon for travellers but no wonder you were able to be there.

Once me and my wife with my elder son Pratham(at that time only at the age of 9 months) were travelling to Goa in 2007 when Google Maps were not so much famous.

We have taken an Activa scooter on rent and started our day ride in monsoon time. Suddenly rain started and it had increased it's intensity.

Foggy and havey rain make us unable to see from 6 feet.

1902861.jpg

All of sudden we halt at sides of road as everyone trying to park all vehicles near road.

After clearing weather we started to search actually where we are and even we don't know where we were. And lost the way.

Mumbai-Goa11.jpg

And 2 local Goans come there and help us to reach our hotel by giving proper directions in between we noticed our scooter petrol is empty so they got petrol for us and even didn't taken money for the petrol they said they were concerned only for our child.

Ay God bless them forever ... They were Solomon and Bunty.

It's a great concept ...

I'm in will update my story soon.
