The circus came to town every year and used the same field year after year.
They arrived one year and found signage indicating that they had no planning permission or permit and could not set up the circus.
"Not fair" said one of the workers
"That's right, we're a circus" retorted the clown.
He got a fair slap over the head for that one...

Down at the bottom of Lake Erie, there is a huge perch. He runs a school, a school of perch, to teach other perch how to be successful. One of his most important lessons is to Fear Fair-lures. And all other lures, too! ; )

Bada bing, ya' been punned. It was short and relatively painless I hope, and funny because "fare" and "fair" sound alike but mean very different things.

Several years ago, there was a major shortage of cobbler's tools in the town of Shoeville. In response, the local trades union, United Cobblers 201 decided to put on a fundraiser to help the shoemaker's of the area get more tools. They had the brilliant idea of showing the Movie "In Love and War", about a soldier falling in love with a French woman during WWII. They were asking for donations of tools as entry to the movie.
The next morning an ad in the paper describing what you needed to bring, in order to get into the benefit movie, pretty much said it all:
"Awls-Fare: In Love and War"

I am pondering all my possibilities...and onward to the puns. You look very spiff in the clothes for Renaissance too. Looks like a lot of fun. Never been to one, but would like to go, some day.
