Winner from last week will be going up as soon as I have a secure internet connection (latest Thursday)

A Favorite Freewrite

Every Tuesday, you have a chance to win a membership to Steem Basic Income, SBI, at the Freewrite House.

Try to win one, my friends. An everlasting vote on your posts is nothing to sneeze at.

We want to make it super easy for you. Your task is to tell us in the comment section about one - or more- freewrites of others you have read in the last couple of days you really liked. Yup, not your own!!

The comment must be at least 50 words long - no upper limit 🤪

See the rules below for details.

In an ideal world, you also give that person a nice upvote - but we are not going to check on that.

To be entered into the drawing, go to the Daily Prompt post by @mariannewest. We are doing our best to resteem them to the Freewrite house profile.
Read as many Freewrites as you can. Then tell us about a freewrite you really liked and why.
Choose from the last couple of days if possible so others can go, visit, and, inspired by your description, leave a vote.

The Friday Favorites Post

is finally posted. This should be getting quicker and easier for me. It is not. I'm embarrassed to confess how many glitches I manage to run into. One, I spotted after posting: I got the wrong bracket. {{{{ is not [[[[[[.
But that doesn't explain the rest, and I am going outside now to walk dogs and weed and revel in a glorious, sunny May morning. Still an hour and a half left of it (until noon). Thanks you all for participating, nominating, reading, and commenting!

Sometimes, it is just one bracket or a space that shouldn't make any difference, but it does. It is maddening. Hope you had a great walk!

You feel lacking until you read something like this. True that I have on many an occasion read bits and pieces of what's happening. But until it's broken down, you don't got the epitome of desperation. What could be so bad, you are willing to take the risk of death? How hungry can you be, to steal food right out of someone else's hand? Reading @hlezama's Desperate prompt, really brought it home.

I was scanning the #freewrites from yesterday and came across this post by @bxlphabet on the prompt delegation. He got me thinking about the first time I found out about @mariannewest and #freewrites from @taskmaster4450. I went to her post and wrote that day, then the next day, and now I only post once a day, and it's only the #freewrite prompt as my subject. It's amazing how many twists I can turn the prompt into to enter contests, food categories, or just my like. Turn your newbie's on to this post by @bxlphabet if they have Steemit block. 😁

You can usually count on large family gatherings at weddings and funerals. You wouldn't think that a funeral could be so funny but the one @kaerpediem experienced and writes about is hilarious, and one that everyone will always remember. This is a must read if you want a good laugh, even if it is at the expense of a loved one's death.

I love to recommend this story about camping.
As a parent, you always try to give your kids a break, a great time and it will bring up good and precious memories one day for sure.
It is the weekendfreewrite of @myjob I want you to read. Each time I am surprised by her stories. They are about life itself but all sound like adventures to me and... there is always at least one fish mentioned!

My second recommendation is written by @deeanndmathews.
She has discovered freewriting and I am happy she did. In her freewrite, she tells about her good friend Iris. A hard-working woman with a great heart, willing to help others. Not only her family but also the community. What touched me most of all is her faith (read her wise words and keep them in mind!) and the fact people did not let her down. They shared with her as well.

The freewrite started in the German language as well. We survived the first week and it would be great if more people join us.

My 3rd recommendation is written by @shakkei.
It partly reminds me of animation about a "brave toaster" I saw years ago (who knows I still have it on videotape).
@shakkei his series of freewrites is about kitchen machines and kitchen appliances (partly) forgotten. At the moment a spider moves in the first story starts. The spider is not welcomed by all of them and one by one the machines come alive (and start complaining).
In this part, the fridge doesn't feel well. Something left inside is about the expiration date.
I doubt it will smell better at the time you read this since I haven't read/seen the continuation of the story yet.
It is not a long story so easy to translate.

One of my favorite freewrite was @d00k13’s on desperate. He gave a good pep post about not begging but starting to empower yourself and don’t waste time on fruitless activities. A positive uplifting writeup. He pointed out each of us have something to offer.
We should be searching it out and moving forward.

My 2nd recommendation is by Sharon @fitinfun. She is a firm advocate for free writing. Sharon has been ill for quite awhile but slowly getting better.
Her freewrite tells of some hard times when her son was small and how there is always sunshine after clouds. After being jobless for months a surprise comes via a good friend and her life improves greatly with a new job. Definitely a heart warming story showing the kindness of others helping in times of need.
