Finish the Fiction Story Contest - WEEK #11 WINNERS!
Hoist the colors high, proud storytellers!
Holy bananafish... what a week even this one! By hosting @improv first, and then @carneasadafilms, I'm starting to think that we're getting too much spoiled!
Being catapulted in the rusty and pulp world of Rich has been an intense experience. His screenwriter's skills gifted us a very challenging script as much as a vivid chase scene. I hope that he will keep being part of this fiction project both as a participant and contributor!
a special thank you to our friend @pixiehunter for her marketing idea, which you can find here! Don't be shy and show her your appreciation for sustaining our fictio-holic community. You rock, Pixiedixie!
Thanks to @anixio's generosity, even next pot will be increased of 1 SBD by default!
One last thing, I hired Steno, a professional graphic designer, for a complete branding of the contest.. it's going to be kick-ass stuff and I will share with all of you a special membership banner (can't wait to show you!).
But wait, don't be too eager to jump to the awards! First, do yourself a favour: throw that old boring book you keep on the drawer (unless it's the Necronomicon) and hurry to the next bookstore to buy...
Alright, let's cut the chatter, brave storytellers, the winners of the 3 @steembasicincome shares are:
@cyemela: in my opinion Cyrus spent some extra focus on week #11, giving birth to one of his most successful contributions. Perhaps he was particularly inspired by the prompt. The result is a truly entertaining second part. In some moments, for the particular humour he put on stage (and probably for the tripping), I imagined his gunslinger interpreted by a Johnny Depp in a "Fear and Loathing in Tuba City" version.
@anixio: other than his typical clear writing style, especially in the sentence structure, I appreciated the unexpected and merciless ending.
@dirge: he entered the contest with an extra fine contribution, capable of blending moments of pure poetry with raw ones. His final idea plays with the characters in a clever way. Keep it up!
@pixiehunter, @giddyupngo, @nancybriti, @wondewop, @figuringoutsrn, @brisby, @antimetica, @adazone: you all did great and the reward is 0.325 SBD each! Let's grow up together and the pot will grow as well!
.. see you all next Wednesday with another story and a rich pot of 3 @steembasicincome shares + the SBD payout!
For those that want to join the fun, here is how this contest works:
2. You finish it with your own post or a comment in the comment section. A limit of 500 words is recommended.
3. YOU WIN! 3 @steembasicincome shares to the writers with the best ending + Wednesday's post SBD PAYOUT between all the participants who won't get one of the 3 shares
It's so simple and, most of all, we'll enjoy our fiction ideas!
Nothing is mandatory here, but voting and resteeming is highly appreciated!
What's next?
I enjoyed so much reading all the entries! Finding all the books and movies references in them was a game inside the game. I like the fact this community of writers shows a wide knowledge of the fictional worlds and manage to put it in clever and amazing ways in the story endings. Next time, I promise , I will return to participate as an active writer!
I enjoyed everyone's take on it, particularly @giddyupngo's.
Thanks for the opportunity and for hosting the contest.
Until next time!
You just contributed to the creation of a new rule for week #12: one of the SBI will be awarded on the basis of the votes received by the participants.
I believe a round of grog is in order. A toast to F3nix, for continuing to run and sponsor this contest and encourage writers at all levels. A cup of grog (in the digital form of a share of SBI) goes to all participants of this weeks contest, including marcoriccardi for commenting on so many stories. I wouldn't have written the story that received a curie vote without you. Cheers!

Right on! Cheers to f3nix a most gracious and welcoming host!
So kind of you to give a gift to your writing companions, thank you from the bottom of my heart <3
So happy to hear that your story received a curie vote! Your story was impressive and so much fun to read! Thank you, Giddyupngo, for your generosity, it is very sweet of you! 💖 See you next round!
¡Madre de Dios! How much we like this grog (whatever it is made of) and most of all drinking it between us friends! Thank you Giddy, you curieshious and delirious storyteller!
I love the gif, how perfect. :-)
Monkey Island rulez! 😜
Thank you so much! So much fun, a great way to meet new people and practice writing. I loved all the stories this time to be honest I don't envy your position of having to choose. I hope to see more from @carneasadafilms as well and @dirge
Thank you for your contribution @antimetica! I'm eager to see your creation for tomorrow's prompt.
Yes, I try to give my best and be neutral ..from next contest 1 of the @steembasicincome shares will be rewarded based on the decision of all the participants.. I think this is a great idea, what do you think?
Sounds like a great idea!
Tomorrow we see it in action 👍
Always excited to be passing by, @f3nix. Always grateful to you and to this contest that is surpassed every day in quality and participation. Un super grande abbraccio ;)
Yeah, we're growing steady and strong! This is going beyond my most positive expectations... your creativity is amazing. See you on Wednesday dearest!
Wow, nice job everyone. Know what I was just thinking would be fun? One of these stories, we should each write one paragraph, continuing from the previous person. Now that would be hilarious to see the outcome, and wait to see who would be the one to end it.
I like this idea it reminds me of old school PBEM games (play by email role play).
Oh, never heard of it, but I hope that they think about the idea. :)
Yes, it's a great idea pixie! First, we still need to work on improving the basics: interaction between us through vote/comments and acknowledging our potential as a newborn community. Slowly and steady we'll do a lot of great things, this included! :-)
Indeed, cuz as they say, slow and steady wins the race. :)
Actually, read that book as a kid. Just joking. Thanks again @f3nix!
LOL, nice childhood! You're welcome! I would have devoured a book written the way you did. By the way, I wrote a small curation post about you and the audiobook (that's why I was late).
This was so cool. I didn't think it was possible to have that script make sense in the end, but EVERYONE figured out a clever way to bring it to a conclusion. Loved all the various writing styles. Also a special respect to those for whom English is not their primary language. Amazing!
Thanks to all for participating and to @f3nix for honoring me with an invitation to write the script. It really made me feel welcome here!
I have to say that I share your same sense of wonder for the many creative solutions of all the participants. I want to make this become a workshop and a community and I'll be happy if you want to continue being part of it! Week #12 is between us! Check it here and enjoy!
Congratulations 👏 everyone, especially @f3nix you continue to be one of the most generous Steemians on this blockchain. Mille Grazie. 🙏
I think this is a fun and wild ride, we go on till I have fuel! Thanks Bruni for your always entertaining endings.. maremma maiala! 😁✌️
Thank you for the huge shout out too @f3nix :) It was fun to come up with the design :)
Thanks to you! you're always of great support to the project my friend! :-)
:) I quite enjoy doing it. :)
