@timcliff made a post recently, asking about how to make steem price $10 in 2018. You can read the post here He said that the steemit.inc are stake holders bit also members of the steemit community are also stake holder, and so it is also up to members of the steemit community to see how they can improve the price and the value of steem and not just the steemit.inc.

@taskmaster4450 reacting to @timcliff's post about how to take steem price to $10 in 2018, made a post and you can read the post here. In the post he was suggesting minnowers should be more active on steemit and this way the value of steem can improve. He was suggesting that minnowers should make up to 3 -4 post a day starting from July to be more active and when there is more activity on steemit, there will be more voting and this can improve the steem price.

But for me I have a different view from @taskmaster4450 view. People have other engagements outside steemit, that they barely manage to make one post a day, so making 3 post a day might not be possible.

What I suggest is that, generous whales should focus on empowering minnowers and not just circle jerking and the supported minnowers should in turn empower other minnowers and this other minnowers should in turn with other members in the community empower new users.

Also whales and people with large account should encourage minnowers maybe through a post to power up at least 60% of their earns anytime rewards from their post comes in. This could be done for a year and the whales should use it has a criteria to support a minnower.
So if whales and people with high steem power support minnow and encourage them to power up, the price of steem can go up to $10 and even higher in 2018. Why? Because When you power up, it is like an investment and the more you invest in something the more the value you get from that thing..

I totally agree with you. Another thing is that Steemit seems to look like a cult wherein only those who know themselves help one another. If you're not in the clique you get frustrated. A lot of my friends gave up in the very first month they're introduced here. It's discouraging you keep spending productive time to make post and they won't attract even $0.1 and then you see others whose posts attract so much upvotes and $. You look at the quality of those posts and compare them with yours, you just feel like giving up. This in addition to the points you raised will help Steemit grow.

On steemit, when you build relationships with people it is only natural that you will upvote their post more, hence the circle jerking. But the mistake they make is that they only stick with the people they have built relationships with, instead of been generous to others too.

You can say generous whales should do this or that, but that doesn't make it so. They are responding to the incentives available and have largely decided that the circle jerking and bot leasing is the way to go for them. And that's the perfectly rational choice on their part.

So given that economic landscape, the question is: how do red fish and minnows see enough value to continue to be engaged?

You are correct. Maybe minnowers and red fish should support themselves with the little they have now and over time it will grow to something big.
