Quinn's Quality Content Curation ~(~Q2C2~)~ Episode 2steemCreated with Sketch.

in #community7 years ago

Greetings!

I am excited to share with you my second episode of Q2C2!

I was really inspired to start this project as I stated in my project launch episode yesterday.

I won't repeat myself here, but if you didn't see it please check it out as I explain why this project is important to me and how it helps Steemit grow! Also, there are some really quality posts in there which you may have not seen but would WANT to!

Today seemed to be a VERY busy day on Steemit as far as posts go; at least, the people in my feed were posting a lot away. I read at least 50 posts today probably closer to 100. I feel like I enjoy it a lot more now, because I'm not just doing it for myself anymore but am also thinking about which posts are most important for the Steemit Community to see and making notes as I go!

So here we go with today's edition with 7 Quality Posts!

First up on my list today is a post from a few days ago that has already done quite well, but I really feel is a MUST read especially for anyone new to Steemit. It is by @luzcypher and titled The Most Valuable Steemit Post Begins In Your Head - Tips To Mazimize Your Social Currency On Steemit.

This post is worth reading for:

  1. Anyone new to Steemit, as it really puts the experience in perspective and gives you a solid foundation to grow.
  2. Anyone who likes to or wants to help people become more successful on Steemit.
  3. Anyone who does not feel like they "get" Steemit or are progressing.
  4. Anyone who wants a good read on the Steemit Experience from a successful Steemian.

Check it out here!

Next up is actually the post I found the most interesting of any post I have read in a long while by a very honorable Steemian @aggroed. It is titled "The twelve million dollar miner: who is @freedom?"

I am not taking any sides on this post as of now but feel it is very intriguing and something that would be of great interest to many who are invested in this platform. I find healthy exploration and debate to be VERY valuable for any free market economy.

This post is worth reading for:

  1. Anyone who keeps up with or is interested in the whales and stakeholders here on Steemit.
  2. Anyone who likes investigation, mystery, and intrigue.
  3. Anyone who is heavily invested in this platform.
  4. Anyone who pays attention to the economy of $Steem.

Be sure to check this one out!

Next up is a post by a relatively unestablished Steemian @fortified , but it is done very well and has some great research showing a positive result! It is titled "WIKILEAKS | Top Of News Credibility Ratings"

This post is worth reading:

  1. For anyone interested in news.
  2. Anyone who likes a lot of data to prove points.
  3. Anyone who doesn't like main street media.
  4. Anyone who likes wiki leaks.

Check it out!

Next up is a post by @firepower who is a hard worker on and off Steemit. It is titled "Let's Talk—The Importance of Doing Absolutely Nothing and Taking a Break!"

This post is worth reading:

  1. Because its written by someone who is successful and a hard worker.
  2. Because taking a break is important and from personal experience he shows why.
  3. Helps put into perspective the bigger life picture.
  4. Because it's really easy to get caught up in "work", even work we like and actually get less done that with breaks.

Check it out!

Next up is is a post by @dreemit titled Color Challenge- Friday Blue "Can't get enough of the lake" And A Promotion of New/New-ish Steemians You Must Check Out.

This post is worth reading because:

  1. The picture is nice, but it's so much more. I really like it when people put valuable content in their picture posts and not just pretty pictures. I post a lot of photography posts and always include wisdom or a cool story or insight to the photos to give it more value.
  2. This post lists some new Steemians that @dreemit feels we should check out. I didn't wind up following all the suggestions but felt the post was a very nice post and very supportive of the growth of the community. It is somewhat similar to what I want to also do in the future evolution of these posts.

Check it out!

Next up is a post by @little-peppers (you probably have heard of their papa, @papa-pepper ). It is titled PINKIE-PEPPER DEMONSTRATES HOW TO GAIN CONTROL OF A WILD SNAKE IF YOU NEED TO.

This post is worth reading because:

  1. There are few if any accounts worth supporting more than @papa-pepper.
  2. Parenting is very important to me and this post shows how capable children can be.
  3. This post and almost all of the Pepper families posts are very educational and well done.
  4. Prime examples of how to do Steemit posts well.

Check it out!

Last but not least for todays episode is by a well established Steemian @son-of-satire and the post is titled "Psychopathic Shit That Humans Do Without Thinking - # 1 : Fishing"

This post is worth reading for anyone who:

  1. Likes comedy.
  2. Likes intelligence.
  3. Likes stories with a point.
  4. Likes the combination of all of this!

Check it out!

Wow this is A LOT of work but I feel REALLy good about it! I love to help this community grow and work together for common success! I also love reading the quality posts by so many of the competent Steemians and am happy to share them with you!

As always, I welcome feedback and appreciate support~*~

SteemON!

Excellent selection! I had already read most but loved the @son-of-satire blog!

I love that you not only give us some great reads, but the reasons you believe they are worthy of your acknowledgement and why we might like them too. A really thorough job @quinneaker. I know you have high standards and your intelligence shines through in the choices you make. I appreciate the heads-up on the posts...it's also fun to discover new authors creating value. I love your title too Q2C2.

I appreciate the comment and support @everlove I have put a lot of time and energy into curating these articles with this post. I am grateful that it is well received and that it is supporting the greater good of the community.
I really quite liked the title also and only thought of it after I started writing my first curation post.
Seems like it was meant to be and I feel really good about furthering this project for the greater good of this beloved Steemit Community!
<3 EverLove <3

I can tell you love it here, your post is a testament to your commitment and inspiration. Steemians will benefit from your project--there are so many posts to read and having some good filtered ones rise to the top is definitely a blessing. As are you!! Thanks for the love!!!

I appreciate the support as always <3 EverLove <3

Great post & great project, Quinn! There are so many posts to read on Steemit each day, I appreciate that you're bringing quite a lot of valuable content to my attention and providing a little insight into what makes a quality post.

I appreciate the comment and support. This is exactly what I want to do and hope that I am achieving that for others as well.

Excellent curation: just wrote a post about why just upvoting is not curation.
There is a thirst out there for a guide of "good taste" This one definitely qualifies. I will add your efforts to my own weekly curation list (my own curation goal is about the idea economy.
Do you know of any other curation lists/ curators who have the same approach as you?
Great work! keep it up!

Greetings!
Really like this comment. I totally agree with you and that is why I started this project. I have not seen any posts that do it this way and feel that while it is a lot of work it is very valuable to the community.
I am aware of lots of curation projects but they just copy a bunch of links and thats it or just up vote a bunch of stuff and thats it.
Hope to see you around and help build a better community together!

Indeed, as I explain in my article there is a lot people dont understand about curation:
It needs to have focus, on a goal and specific topics so the audience knows what to expect. Too much information is NO information. Then of course the sources where you get it need to be focussed, steemit authors are a great start, but to make sens of your curation goal, you might have to fill in the blanks with other material.
This sense making by the curator is very important, and you do it very well! Explaining why you show this content and why a person should read it is just as important. If not you might still be wasting the readers time with irrelevant posts. Not everything is relevant to everyone, even if they are high quality that is why the explanation is so important! Will be following your curation letters closely! Keep it up!

Totally agree!
Very well said. I can see you understand what you are talking about.
I intend to post content of real value.
Hope to see you around and continue to get our feedback.

Thanks for sharing these interesting and informative posts. Its refreshing to see people not self-promoting their own posts and actually curating others great work.

I am looking forward to keeping track and reading other great content you are promoting. Thanks for going to the effort to read, evaluate, review and share with us all.

Thank you very much for this comment. It means a lot to me. I would do it anyways because I really care and am committed to the greater good of this platform.
Yet this comment means a lot. I am grateful that you appreciate and support this cause. It helps motivate me to keep doing it as it is a lot of work.
Hope to continue to share content of real value.
SteemON!

You've taken curation to the next level!

Its so easy to miss great posts in my feed or elsewhere on Steemit because there is so much content available to view. On the one hand, this gives me comfort in that I like to think my own great posts are just getting lost in the fray. :-) On the hand, it makes me sad that I may be missing excellent posts by my favourite authors and new ones I have yet to discover.

So when I see curation posts like yours, it's like hitting the jackpot! I particularly alreciate that you've taken the time to explain why each post is worth reading. Thanks so much for taking the time to do this!

Thank you VERY much for the encouragement and support! Means a lot to me as this post is a LOT of work. I am doing it to try and help the Steemit community thus its only worth it if the community finds it of value.
This helps motivate and inspire me to keep up with it for the greater good of our community!
Thanks for the feedback. I really like that I give some explanation and that you like that as well.
Hope to share more posts of real value.
Cheers!

Beautifully done dear! Wish I can feature on your post soon!
Cheers
@progressivechef

Anything is possible. Keep authoring quality content and it will happen one day.

Thanks for the motivation dear! You are awesome!

Anything is possible~*~
SteemON!

The benefits will be tangible if you put tons of effort!

Thats right, add consistency to that!

Thanks SO much for including my post in your selections. I'm happy you found it useful. I didn't see it in time to vote so I'll send you a Steem tip instead.

Hey no worries Mate. I have PLENTY of other posts u can up vote hehehe ;-)>
You totally deserve it man. You are a genuine good guy and are doing a lot to help further the success of Steemit in many ways.
I am gong to make it a point at least once a week to promote how good the open mic is and will feature you/ur articles again in a Q2C2 post again for sure.
SteemON!

Thanks!
Hope to continue to bring content of real value!
