Move over AirBnB - SteemBnB has arrived

Ever thought, 'boy it would be nice to let out my house for a week and get paid to advertise it at the same time?'

Well wonder no more!

For it is here and it is going to be HUGE!!

Now we here at 'Community News' don't know exactly who to thank for this incredible idea. A bit of research reveals that the concept was being thrown around in 2016.

Then just 2 weeks ago @papa-pepper released published his vision for Steemit's very own a short term accommodation site. (Includes picture above)

And the flurry of excitement has not stopped since.

@chicosonico and his vision for 'SteemBnB' has gone viral. In his post @chicosonico takes the AirBnB concept and applies a working process to make the whole letting process happen right here on the Steemit platform, with all payments to be made in STEEM.

The following day @chicosonico put the first official Steem BNB room up for short term let. A one bedroom apartment in beautiful Barcelona for a modest 35 STEEM a night.

To say that the staff at 'Community News' were excited about this concept would be a complete understatement. The mere idea of travelling the world on STEEM, simply sends chills of excitement down ones spine.

We will be watching the progress of #steembnb with much interest and believe this to be a fantastic project for all Steemit communities to involve themselves in.

This might just be the beginning of 'peer to peer real world steeming' - who needs AirTasker, when we have SteemTasker?

Update - Lord of the Steem

'Lord of the Steem' #steemlords mega-challenge continues to unveil its cryptic clues. Thus far we know:

The 'Quest for the sword' is to commence 1 August 2017.
Combatants should now be making their way to the rally point now - (by posting about their journey to get there).
Steemian Lords will be competing for the sword 'Excalibur', to be crowned 'Lord of the Steem' and to rule the STEEM forever more!

Hark Fork 19 - Staying Positive

The debate over personal upvoting is rife in the world of the Steemit Elite.

There has been shaming of some chronic upvoting whales.

Some have come to the defense of these whales, claiming that it is just part of the game.

There have been calls for the outright banning of the Comment upvoting; or, too a lesser extent, dilution of the effectiveness.

Others have called for less policing and more freedom, whilst other believe a change at Hard Fork 20 is required to combat this issue and the sooner, the better.

But when all was said an done, one man... this man... @hanshotfirst who sought to remind everyone...

'You must stay positive'.

I don't know man, I'm the furthest thing from a whale so I feel like I can say this with a measure of unbiased opinion.. but if I was a whale and poured as much time & money into my steemit, surely I must have the right to choose whether I upvote my own posts or not. Some people have sewed the seed long enough, I think it's appropriate that they can reap the rewards; maybe to a lesser degree than the mentioned "chronic self-voters" but everything in moderation.

Great reply Donnie. Can't disagree with what you say. The way we see it... posts for everyone have dropped to 10-20% of before the Hard Fork. It hurts no matter who you are - as it is all relative. And you want to try and make up that shortfall. Whether this is in the best long term interest of Steemit remains the question though.

And if we're honest... if the whales are looking after themselves via steemit, they'll continue to invest into this platform, increasing the value of Steemit and in turn looking after the rest of us.
