We’re officially opening the contest to all musical creatives. The goal of the contest is to ultimately assemble a group of skillful talents that demonstrate a high standard for their craft.

Project Details

---

As a community, we'll be creating music from scratch. The strategy is to combine selected participants that demonstrate proficient competence in their craft, then, collectively produce a track. This process will be repeated with different participants for each track. Block Mountain has selected DJ Lethal Skillz (@djlethalskillz) and Scuzzy Ruckus (@scuzzy) to be curators for this section of the project.

Even though some participants and winners will be compensated, we want all participants to practice the philosophies of Block Mountain: to engage, empower, and enable.

Plan and Process

First: You create.

Second: The music will be professionally mixed and mastered for all the tracks for the project

Third: Release it major blockchain platforms and press kits will be sent to major music blogs and cryptocurrency-based websites.
Fourth (in time): Get distribution deals with major streaming music services, i.e., iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, Amazon Music, Pandora, Tidal, etcetera.

Fifth: One music video with all artists involved in the making of the project.

Submission Process & Information

Step 1: Create a new post, include “Block Mountain Submission” in the title of your post and use the first tag ‘#blockmountain’.

Step 2: Create or find a piece of music in whatever deliverable makes sense for you (embedded audio or video of the song) and a brief description. In the description write about why you made this piece and how you feel that fits with Block Mountain. You're not required to create new music for this contest. We want to hear music that highlights your abilities.

Step 3: Submit your submission post link in the comments section. Ensure that the submission highlights the best of your abilities.

Step 4: Feel free to add cover art and other images, provided you credit the source. (optional)

Remember that this is a multi-genre project, so we'll be reviewing everything, no matter how abstract it is!

Submissions for Block Mountain will be open for approximately four weeks. Submitting sooner is better, as we will cut off submissions once we have received a substantial amount to qualify.

Qualified participants will be contacted and directed to our Discord channel exclusive to Block Mountain, where the majority of our communication will be.

The Block Mountain Album

The primary initiative is to produce and release the first of the Block Mountain album series featuring the Steemit community.

Qualified musical talents will be selected to join the project. Based on their musical specialty, each participant will be assembled into groups in which the collective will collaborate to produce a new track. This process is repeated until the ideal number of tracks are completed.
