Comment of the Day #10

in #comment7 years ago

New rules added:

I will also nominate comments.

The users submitting the winning nominations will receive a shared reward of 20% of the SteemPower these posts generate as SteemPower onto their accounts.

Still same % votes on all nominations
Now Top 5 Comments

Guidelines

-Quote the comment you feel is worthy of a bigger reward (can not be your own)
-Add a link to the original in the same comment (you get a permalink of the comment by clicking on the time next to the username of the comment)
(example: )
-Vote for your winners and feel free to change the weight of the vote when checking other's suggestions as well
-I will vote up the suggestions with the same % (currently 5%) as to not interfere with the decision of who wins but reward the effort

Comment of the Day nominations will now last 1 week so readers can vote and nominate the winners on a wider timeline. That means the decision of which top 5 comments won will be made after the posts payout in 1 weeks time.

Feel free to add more comments to the older ones starting from #4 with the day of the comments on the right posts and vote accordingly on nominations.

Also the voting from me on the winning comments which was thought to be an "added bonus" after the won Steem Dollars might be removed or lowered since it uses up a lot of voting power and the SB the winners receive might be enough.

Reward Split

Top 5 daily comments will be rewarded by the posting rewards of this post and by a vote from me and my curation trail.

-40% of the SteemDollars will go top comment #1, 25% to top comment #2 and 15% to top comment #3, 12.5% to top comment #4, 7.5% to top comment #5

The users nominating the Winning comments will receive 10% of the SteemPower the post generates. (might increase over time)

Here's one from @dreemit that made me smile quite a bit.

"@breezin's comment just set the bar so high I'm struggling to find something that compares!
I'll focus for a moment on the words of the post, which made me grin the kind of grin that would make me guffaw at myself if I saw it in the mirror. I've seen very few naked women myself. At least not since my girlfriends and I were young and used to go skinnydipping at night off my parent's dock. You have somewhat of an idea what that might be like, as the girls of Reborn are all based on these friends. Though their unclothed bodies will be described in more detail in the coming books...(just made Renewal several times more appealing now, right? lol)

While I can't hope to beat that comment of our breezy friend, I still feel the need to tell you that is by far the best painting of a naked woman I have ever seen. If you had asked me just twenty minutes ago if I would ever hang a painting of a naked woman in my home, I would have said not a chance. You have forever altered that answer.

EDIT: I just opened a fortune cookie--not much of a fortune but it might work as a subliminal message, haha! "This is a really lovely day, congratulations!" LOL"

Well that isn't something I expected to see when I opened this post, haha! I'm glad it made you smile :) Now I'll have to put up the comment by @breezin I was referencing!

Yes! Please do that! Spread the word about this initiative. Acidyo has come up with a brilliant idea now we need to help it grow!

I absolutely agree! Comments are the backbone of this community :)

This isn't just a great example of why we should all be on Twitter, it also demonstrates the power of being the only cryptocurrency with a social network built on it (and more coming soon). Because we have a place where we can coordinate our actions we can have even more influence than our mere market cap would suggest. What people forget is that the reason currency is valuable is because it facilitates the coordination of human activity.

Unfortunately that's not a comment so isn't eligible for this contest, but thanks for the nominating anyway!

Oops, maybe I should pay a little closer attention ;>

From @matt-a on Peerplay Tokens and Casinos:

That's what I'm thinking. Casinos are, well, they're fucking evil. They're the devil incarnate! And fallible, unpredictable, opaque human beings RUN THEM!!! Applying the concept that will never disappear no matter what, of gambling, to a blockchain and sprinkling in the beauty of distributed consensus into that, well, that's straight up golden. It also takes the "it's the devil," factor down quite considerably, but at the end of the day, it's still the devil haha. I mean yeah, I'm in too!

Hopefully our dice roll is a favorable one.

I was looking for the comment that made me participate in a contest and was wondering why I received steem.
Thank you! Appreciate your support :)

Welcome Always!

I would like to nominate @thatmemeguy for this comment

This is similar to what happened to me! As a child my mom gave me cookies to sell. It was incredible successful! Imagine a 10 year old not having to ask for money to his parents! After that entrepreneurship is always with me

It's touching , Please vote for him

Thanks for the nomination!

this is how @deepapoudel defines the question of morality, "is it okay to steal for the good cause?"

Good to see we having same standpoint :)
Now, looking at the question of morality, I don't think it's ever good to steel for whatever cause. Given the cause of helping people, it's not immoral to steal but illegal. But again, rules are just sets of instructions developed by people to keep ourselves under some systems so that we do not bend from it. Let's keep that part apart, it's always obvious that hungry stomach do not oblige by any rules or philosophy. People tend to steal when they do not own anything to make their living. They can go to any extent which is so natural, however, I don't see any good in that. It's okay though. Living doesn't only include being alive, but also following moral obligations.
If someone is stealing food to feed their starving family or medicine for a sickly spouse, so what will it do? It will make them stay alive and feel the energy of life again. But someone who is stealing has to live the whole life with the guilt of immoral obligation. However, that pain can never be the worth more than the life of someone. So, I personally think there is nothing either good or bad, it's believe which make it so. If you have belief that you are doing good, it's good... if you think it's bad and you are doing it, then that tends to hurt for the rest of the life.
Again, I am just imposing my personal thoughts, I don't say I am right but I believe. The world works on belief and faith :)

They "use" Internet and Information Technology.

Very fast global transmission. These are extremely valuable attributes for a company today. That is the real secret.

That is why Steemit and the Wallet we have will do the same with money as these companies did with their branches.

Exactly as nobody did understand that these companies would be the biggest in the beginning. Nobody or very few understand that Steemit with their Wallet will be the biggest. Think about it, nobody can transfer money as fast and with no cost as you can from your wallet to another Steemit Wallet anywhere in the world.

Think about this:
You go on Steemit and write something (a post, a comment, a reply), vote and get paid to your wallet.

When did you get some extra money in your bank account for asking your bank about something or tell them your opinion?
And they can not even transfer money for you fast enough?
And this cost you money?

So, who will be big?
That is the real secret!

It is very nice idea, but

it is like in the real world. Who we are to say how much should people earn? We are living in capitalism and if there is a fotball player making over 1M dollars per month, its because of us. We give these people money, we fund this.

So I am not sure if this is not the old tax rich people, cut tax for poor. It does look like a great idea in the real world, but who will then make investments? Who will try to change the world? Not all billionares are greedy.

Tax is not helping, it damages the economics.

But this will always be a war of what is good and what is not good. Different people, different opinions and such. There would never be consensus for this.

I guess the biggest problem now are the bots and huge trails with their huge voting power - these always vote up just a couple of few people.

Thank you leesunmoo.
