In the Zimbabwe general election, the election commission said the Emeran Asanangai won Zimbabwe's presidential election. He has received 51 percent of the vote, according to the Election Commission.
Robert Mugabe was in power for four decades before Zimbabwe was in power. After three days of an election, the Jan-PF party candidate Aanangwa won 50.8 percent of the vote after the results of 10 provinces were announced on Thursday, the Zimbabwe Election Commission said.
Nelson Chamisa, 44, with 3 percent of the voted candidate for Democratic Change (MCD), contested the election of Akhenangoyai.
Opposition representatives, however, protested the results. The chairman of the MDC Alliance rejected the election saying that it was not possible to verify the results of the Election Commission.
