If you appreciate a little bit of mysticism and unique architecture then look no further than the Church of St. John of Nepomuk on Zelena Hora. It is another Unesco monument located within the country and is often considered as one of the most original buildings in Europe and amazes people from all over the world to this very day. The church was build based on the story of Czech saint, John of Nepomuk, who was killed as he was unwilling to confess queen’s secrets to the king Vaclav IV. He was long tortured and then his body was thrown from Charles Bridge into the Vltava river. The legend tells that five stars appeared above his head at that moment which inspired the architect to build the church of 5 gates, 5 chapels, 5 altars and 5 stars. This truly is another remarkable place to visit. It is located in the beautiful region of Vysocina in Zdar nad Sazavou. Have a great day everyone.
