1. What's new?
We have started using this account to up-vote the articles that we share and other quality classical music content that might not quite meet our standards for sharing (see sharing guidelines in section 3).
In order to provide more support for the authors that we vote for, @cmp2020 has delegated ~500 steempower to the @classical-music account, and @remlaps delegated ~199.
Because our project's goal is to support the growth of steem and steemit, our previous roundup posts have all been set to 100% powerup. We have now decided to change that practice, beginning with this post. Until further notice, our roundup posts will be set to 50/50, and the liquid portion of the rewards (Steem and/or SBD, not SteemPower) will be proportionally distributed to authors of the articles that we feature in our roundup articles.
(note: Although we don't curently envision changing this practice, this reward distribution is subject to change without notice, at our sole discretion.)
2. Roundup issue #4
Since our last roundup post, there have been 16 new articles in the classical category and 1 in classical-music. Some of these are scheduled for sharing on facebook next week. The table below shows the articles that we have shared on facebook since our last roundup post.
Some are still eligible for payout, so you know what to do!
Author | Title | Days left for payout votes | Potential Share of Liquid Rewards |
---|---|---|---|
@katharsisdrill | Steemswede & Classical music on Steemit | 2 | 1/5 |
@yonah | Why is classical music so GREAT? | 3 | 1/5 |
@nedspeaks | SHE MADE ME LOVE MUSIC: an introduction to SIMONE DINNERSTEIN | 0 | 1/5 |
@cmp2020 | [Opinion] How does Classical Music differ from other Genres of Music? | 4 | 1/5 |
@katharsisdrill | Katharsisdrill recommends - Vier Letzte Lieder by Richard Strauss | 0 | 1/5 |
Additionally, you may like to visit @titin's profile, as he has continued his "Joy of Classics" series. That series now numbers at 18.
Update: Steemswede & Classical music on Steemit was shared on facebook, but I missed it when I created this roundup post. The table has now been updated to include it.
3. What is this initiative?
To introduce the wider community to steemit.com, we have launched the facebook page, Steemit's Best Classical Music, and we are monitoring the #classical-music and #classical categories (as well as others) on steemit. We share the best posts that we find about classical music on our facebook page.
The point of this is to raise steemit awareness and visibility among people on facebook who share an interest in classical music. Additionally, to bring additional attention to the best articles and authors that we find, we recently started sharing periodic roundup articles here on steemit.
Sharing guidelines
Standards for sharing are subjective, but here are some guidelines to show the kinds of the things that we look for:
- Original steem blockchain content
- Attractive formatting
- Well written grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc.
- Roughly 500 to 2,000 words in length
- English language text (Sorry, that's the only one we know.)
- Supplementary video embeds from other platforms - such as youtube - are encouraged when accompanied by original steem block chain content.
- Word length expectations will be relaxed for videos of original performances or compositions by the steemit author.
- Sharing of articles by a single author will be limited to one or two per week.
- To avoid spamming our facebook audience, sharing on facebook will be limited to one or two posts per day.
4. How you can help.
This initiative is intended to promote steemit, and to strengthen the classical music ecosystem here, so if you share these goals we would appreciate your support! Here are some ways you can help:
- Contribute your own original content about classical music to the steem block chain.
- If you have a facebook account, "Like" us here, and adjust the settings to see all of our posts.
- Reshare articles from our facebook page with your facebook friends.
- Resteem our roundup articles.
- Use your upvotes to support the authors of articles that we find and share.
- Let us know if there are any articles that we have overlooked.
- Delegate steempower to the @classical-music account to give weight to our votes for authors of classical content.
- Follow our curation trail through streemian.com when we set it up in the near future.
- This is a user driven initiative with no whale support, and we're making it up as we go, so we enthusiastically welcome your ideas.
Thank you for your continued support and for taking the time to view this post!
@remlaps
This is @nedspeaks. I was informed of this post and my inclusion. Wish I had known and done a better job.
Simone has been fascinating. It is interesting to listen to her talk about music. She talks about the spaces between notes and how important they are. It is her brilliant interpretation of Bach and the amazing performance that drew me to her. Her take is FRENCH SUITE NO 5 is my greatest love. It always transports me me heavenly place. Thanks to all of you. I feel a little incompetent to be with you all but I will peek in here and there
Congratulations @classical-music! You have completed some achievement on Steemit and have been rewarded with new badge(s) :
