"Control your TONGUE" - Daily Word #9
Have you ever had days where you have said something wrong and later regretted it?
I have definitely done that many times.
The tongue is such a small part of our body, but it can create such damage to relationships that are important to us.
The Bible talks about it in James 3...
...Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire...
The worst thing about NOT being able to Control your Tongue is..."you can never take back what you have said". Good or Bad, it has already been released out.
James continues to say...
With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness.
It does make us as Believers a little bit like a Hypocrite, where we are called to LOVE People and yet with the same breath, we talk Bad, Gossip or even Curse people.
I'm reminded today to "Control my Tongue"...

I wish I could be reminded more often of this.
It also states in Proverbs 21:23....
"Watch your words and hold your tongue; you'll save yourself a lot of grief."
