Proposal Charity Team #Promo-SteemRural To Overcome Poverty With Steemit

For most Steemians the idea of running water inside the home, flushing toilets, a car and a steady source of income are commonplace. Not something one would consider a luxury.
However, out of the 8 billion people on this, half live in poverty. Consider some of these numbers on global poverty

1. Nearly 1/2 of the world’s population — more than 3 billion people — live on less than $2.50 a day. More than 1.3 billion live in extreme poverty — less than $1.25 a day.
2. 1 billion children worldwide are living in poverty. According to UNICEF, 22,000 children die each day due to poverty.

1. 805 million people worldwide do not have enough food to eat.

1. More than 750 million people lack adequate access to clean drinking water. Diarrhea caused by inadequate drinking water, sanitation, and hand hygiene kills an estimated 842,000 people every year globally, or approximately 2,300 people per day.
   This is not even highlighting the social problems in these rural communities.

Though poverty is a global phenomenon, we have at our disposal an avenue and powerful tool to change the face of this "condition" - internet and block-chain technology.
Even in the most remote parts of the world, with the help of some basic infrastructure it is possible to setup an internet connection. This can not only bring cultures closer together, but also bring our social, economic and political plight to light in the eyes of our brothers and sisters internationally.

With block-chain technology like SteemIt, we can now empower communities with an "international marketplace" where their cultural knowledge, food, art, and even products can be displayed. And, without the need to ask for "charity" we can evolve from a state of poverty to a state of productivity, as active members of this global community, with a voice of our own.
We are a small but passionate group who wish to bring change to our rural communities, moving those with energy, ideas, and conviction to use this platform to sustain themselves in positive ways.

We've realised, we need to create a training event and ongoing classes to educate and introduce the community to Steem / Steemit by setting up an educational class with some basic equipment
What we need for this program is:

• Computers or Laptops 10 units already collected from the team #promo-steemrural, borrowed 6 units and remaining 4 required with per unit costing current SBD price of 57 SBD per unit, total 228 SBD.

• Once they complete Steem / Steemit's introduction education, we want to encourage their participation through by providing a device to access the platform, such as Smart Smarphone Android Equivalent at 31 SBD per unit. In the first phase e we hope to educate a minimum 50 people. The total amount required for this is equivalent to 1550 SBD.
