Dawn, the solar car, that wants to reach 100 kmh
Designed by PROVE Lab, a Californian student laboratory, Dawn wants to be the first solar-powered car to reach the 100 kmh. The goal of the students is to break the world speed record in its category next June (88.7 kmh by SunSwift Ivy).
Dawn
PROVE Lab students worked more than 2 years on this project, the car is powered by a photovoltaic panel of 2 kW with no battery and controlled by two joysticks. Dawn is made of aerospace carbon fiber in order to be lighter, with the driver, less than 200 kg.
We'll see in June if PROVE Lab will break the world record. All the success to them.
