1991 Porsche 911 Carrera Cup
This saturday (March 10th), RM Sotheby's offers this rare 1991 Porsche 911 Carrera Cup, only 120 were produced and sold to privateer drivers. The auction is expected to exceed the $250,000.
History of Porsche 911 Carrera Cup
The cars were conceived by Helmut Flegl, Porsche's project chief, and Roland Kussmaul, race engineer of Porsche AG, pulling off the regular assembly line and convert to racing car for the new Carrera Cup.
Technical Specifications
The converted Porsche 911 were fitted with a welded-in Wilfreid Matter steel roll cage, a racing Recaro seat and a fire extinguisher. The engine output was increased to 265 hp by changes to the exhaust and the engine management system. All the fixtures were adapted for the race, stiffer suspension, competition shock absorbers, improved unassisted steering... A beast for race track.

This era of Porsche was the best i miss the styling of that time, modern cars now look so plastic. The Ruf CTR around 1990 was my favourite i loved that beast.
Me too, I prefer the design of this era or even before... I had forgotten the Yellow Bird, nice reminder.
