Another great lot during the RM Sotheby's Essen Sale (11-12 April, Germany), with this sensational looks and superb performance 1963 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8-Litre Roadster will auction for about € 200,000.
After this sale, I'll have to make a summary to see the different purchase prices of these wonders.
History of the Jaguar E-Type Series 1
The Jaguar E-Type Series 1 was presented at the 1961 Geneva Motor Show.
Huge success with a factory price of just $6,000...
Enzo Ferrari was even rumoured to have told "the most beautiful car ever made" and still considered as the sexiest car of the 60's.
The E-Type was produced between 1961 and 1975 in three series with technological improvements learned in racing from the D-Type. For the Series 1, the production began in 1961 to end in 1968 with 3 body styles :
- 2-door fastback coupé,
- 2-door 2+2 fastback coupé,
- 2-door roadster.
Specification
The body and chassis is a monocoque tub with its light weight and the aerodynamism by Malcolm Sayer, British aircraft engineer, the E-Type's performance was better than the XK150.
This model has 3.8-liter twin-cam inline six-cylinder engine with a top speed of 240 kmh.
This Jaguar E-Type Series 1 was fully restored with its original engine. It finished in grey over a red leather interior. Very desirable model...

I was never a fan of these Jag's, but as I got older I have learnt to like them. Thanks for sharing mate, cheers.
I'm not Jaguar too but this model with its aerodynamic coachwork looks good.
