History of the Ferrari 512 BBi
The Ferrari 512 BBi is the last of the serie Berlinetta Boxer (BB) produced between 1973 and 1984, the first Ferraris with flat 12 engine. The model was designed by Leonardo Fioravanti, Italian designer working for Pininfarina, Ferrari and Fiat.
512 stands for the car's 5 litre and 12 cylinder engine.
The 512 BBi was presented in 1981 during Frankfurt Salon to replace the 512 BB with a new Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection system offering a better balance of performance and driveability. Ferrari only built 1,007 fuel injected BBs.
In 1984, the model was replaced by the Testarossa.
Specification
The Ferrari 512 BBi has an 4.9 liter flat 12 engine producing 335 hp. The car can reach 100 kmh in just 5.4 seconds with a top speed of 280 kmh.
This model was finished in argento over nero colour scheme with its aggressive looks.
