1963 Jaguar E-Type Low Drag Coupe by Diez Concepts
Great work by Diez Concepts with this replicate 1963 Jaguar E-Type Low Drag Coupe aka 49FXN. So beautiful...
History of the Jaguar E-Type Low Drag Coupe
Only one example Jaguar E-Type Low Drag Coupe with aerodynamically-improved coachwork aka 49FXN was built in 1963. This car was bought in 1963 by Peter Lumsden, racing driver who crashed the car. Jaguar rebuilt it with an unique low drag lightweight feature, the One.
During The Quail A Motorsports Gathering in Monterey, Marco Diez (Diez Concepts) presented his restomod of the 49FXN (first time, I heard about this term restomod : a vehicle that has been put back together with the addition of new modern or aftermarket parts that were not on the vehicle when it came from the factory - source Google).
Thanks to Fast Cars Ltd and RS Panels, coachbuilder from England, Diez recreated the original body with a better interior.
"This Jaguar E-Type Low Drag Coupe has been a passion project. I believe 49FXN is one of the most beautiful automobiles ever made, so to take inspiration from that and make it my own is a dream come true." - Marco Diez
Specification
The Jaguar E-Type Low Drag Coupe by Diez Concepts has the same engine of the 1963 model, 3.8-liter straight-six Crosthwaite and Gardiner engine producing 380 hp. And as the original, it has a ram-air intake for the Weber carburetors.
The true 49FXN on returning to competition in 1964 has reached the 270 kmh during Le Mans test weekend. Beautiful beast, non ?

Great looking car, from a bygone era before plastic cladding and useless CAD-designed divots and slots and vents were put everywhere. Thanks for the post!
Yep design was something else at this time...
Cool looking car, it looks like it's going fast while it's parked, cheers mate.
