History of the Carrozzeria

In the 1960s, Chrylser with its brand Plymouth and Ghia, the Italian coachbuilder, built a stylistic wonder with this unique Plymouth Asymmetrica Roadster. The car was designed by Virgil Exner, automobile designer for Chrysler between 1949 and 1961, a new version of the Plymouth XNR presented two years earlier (in 2012, a XNR model was sold for $US 935,000 through RM Sotheby's).

Thanks to its 2.8 litre in-line six-cylinder engine, the Plymouth Asimmetrica Roadster delivers 102 hp.

But it's the design that makes it original, almost eccentric... This car is distinguished by its curved driver's side bonnet in the continuity of the steering wheel. In the back of the driver, a subtle fin extends this curve. On the passenger side, the car looks more like a classic cabriolet.
