This september, during its Auburn Falls sale, RM Sotheby's will auction this superb 1955 Mercury Montclair Sun Valley for about $UD 100,000. It's one of the 1,787 Sun Valleys produced in just two years, 1955 and 1956.

History of the Mercury Montclair

The Mercury Montclair Sun Valley was produced only two years, 1955 and 1956 by Mercury, Ford division from 1938 to 2011. During this short period of production, only 1,787 Sun Valleys were built.

The model Sun Valley has a large tinted Plexiglass in the front half of the roof, so futuristic look. But it wasn't a success, in the interior of the car, the heat was overwhelming. On the other hand, the other Mercury model, the Montclair convertibles was more successful with a production of 10,668 units.

Technical specification

With its 292cc V8 engine, this Mercury Montclair Sun Valley has been perfectly restored with this yellow finish and for the interior a cream leather with an yellow dashboard. Beautiful...
