THE DAWN OF A NEW ERA FOR #PROMO-STEEM IN UGANDA. First Major Meetup and Plans for the Future.

in #busy7 years ago (edited)

After weeks of posting about the first major meetup for Steemians in #Uganda, the day had finally come.

About 50 people, both newbies and active Stemians gathered at Papyrus Rooftop Restaurant located in central Kampala the capital city of #Uganda to share testimonies, experiences and witness to how Steemit can change peoples lives.
The Steemit #Uganda team leaders(who double as pioneers as well) stepped up and passed on their experiences and challenges faced while posting, blogging and commenting on Steemit.
This was a strategy we came up with not only to encourage the newbies to persist on Steemit but also to assure the newcomers that it is possible to earn just by sharing your thoughts on Steemit.

Me talking about posting original work, importance of commenting to newbies and other Steem based platforms (dtube, Steem.supply,dmania...et al)
Here are some of the questions that were asked.
~Does Steemit pay you to promote it?
~Where does the money come from?
~How do I use dtube?
~How do you withdraw on Steemit.?
~Where are the Steemit offices? (Funny one)
~What is Steem Power and why is it important?
~What does the number in brackets against someone's user name mean?
~How can I get people to follow me?

All these and more were answered masterfully by the team and I.
This was the first of many meet ups with groups of people which is part of our strategy to promote #Steemit in #Uganda. Next we plan to go to institutions and different universities in the country to spread the word about Steemit the social media game changer.
Below is a photo gallery from the event. Enjoy!!

Yeah, really excellent guys! So good to see the promotional activities and growth in Uganda, and indeed all across Africa right now. We know how much energy you're all putting into it, and we are always impressed with how well you're doing.

Thanks @anarcotech for the follow up on our activities. Currently the focus is on making Steemit known by all in #Uganda. I encourage your continued support for our work and I ask if you could keep it up, we appreciate that.

Lovely post, Semboze Davis. Upvoted, also shared link with friends on F-bk.
