The name pf the flowering plant that we have today is Crown of thorns also called Christ thorn, horny plant of the spurge family (Euphorbiaceae), native to Madagascar. The Crown of thorns is popular as a houseplant which is particularly grown in warm climates as a garden shrub.

Scientific name : Euphorbia Milii.

Well the Flowering is year-round but most plentiful in wintertime in the Northern Hemisphere. It does has a history behind its name which is :The common name refers to the thorny crown Jesus was forced to wear during his crucifixion, with the red bracts of the flowers representing his blood.

Some more info that we can know about this beautiful plant is the sprawling, branching, vinelike stems can attain lengths of more than two metres (seven feet), though potted plants are considerably smaller.

Look at those spiky thorns and thinking of that it is indeed a beauty in such a plant a beautiful flower is glowing beautifully !

It is a variable species, and several varieties have been described; some of these are treated as distinct species by some authors.
