Today I will try to understand with you, where the Humanity is go in the next 100 years from the point of view of overpopulation, but also of technology (science).Since the 1800s, the population has reached the first billion, and from this moment its growth has become very fast, reaching over 7 billion at the moment, and at the end of the century it will exceed 11 billion.Population growth is so rapid that we can not estimate what the consequences will be; in other words, due to the fact that what is happening now is unprecedented, we do not have the knowledge to understand how the planet will react.Water, metals, oil and natural gas, minerals and forests are natural resources that nature offers us. Scientific studies show that we use natural resources much faster than they can be replaced. Studies analyzed by the European Commission show that by 2050 we will extract five times more resources than are today if we maintain current trends. But this would mean destroying the Earth, because more than 60% of ecosystems are already overexploited.A study by a petroleum company at the end of 2014 estimated that no country has more oil reserves for more than 50 years, and natural gas for more than 100 years, taking into account the current level of consumption.Unfortunately, solar, wind, or wave and tidal energy can solve the energy need only in the short term, not the medium and long term, because metals are needed to produce photovoltaic cells, wind farms or storage devices obtained from ores, in the process of exhaustion.Although scientists' reports still claim that Terra can supports with drinking water and food a greater number of inhabitants than the present one,it is obvious that resources reach only a small part of people, especially those in rich countries. The water crisis is already hit by many poor countries, while famine is a decade-old problem for many of the world's countries. And yet, as a paradox, the families with the most members are found in these poor countries, because of the sexual education non-existentfrom my point of view.
The population and use of Earth's finite resources grow exponentially with knowledge technology and science.Exploring space is the most urgent mission of mankind as many scientists say, with whom I am perfectly in agreement.
Humanity's only chance for long-term survival it is the expanding into space. This will be much faster than we think because technology is advancing very fast in recent years.
The technology of the future is a chance for each of us and for humanity in general.
