The secret fountain- Chapter 3 - fiction

Emma loved her room. There were beautiful wooden doors that opened on the balcony.  She had a perfect view of the whole city and she has never been so excited in her life. She stood for a while and just gazed upon the city and the felt the warmth welling up on the inside. 

She packed out all her stuff and then took a seat on the bed and opened her grandmother's notebook. She planned to visit every single place mentioned in this notebook and the sooner she started, the faster she could get through the list.  

It was nearly twelve o clock, and she had to be back for dinner at five with Noah. She decided to go to a little fishing village close by, called Calella de Palafrugell. She phoned downstairs to order a taxi and within twenty minutes she was on her way, armed with her little Spanish dictionary. 

The scenery was breathtaking and the driver promised to pick her up again in three hours.  There were beautiful little shops that sold little souvenirs and she bought quite a lot. She spent a few hours just walking and relaxing and bought some ice-cream that she ate while walking. 

On her way to the spot where the taxi was supposed to pick her up, she noticed a little shop that looked very mysterious and intriguing. It was called the Tienda pequeña. As she walked inside she noticed that it was much darker than any other shop. There was an old lady sitting at the counter that smiled at her when she walked in.  Emma greeted her in Spanish. She gazed through the shop and noticed a shelf full of little glass bottles and as she walked past the old lady at the counter, the old lady said something in Spanish. 

"Necesitas la fuente secreta"  

It was too dark inside to use the dictionary and she had no clue what the woman said. She checked out the little glass bottles and found one that looked nearly exactly the same as the one her grandmother gave her. She went to pay but the woman behind the counter just shook her head. 

"Necesitas la fuente secreta" the woman said again. She took the little glass bottle and took out a piece of paper from under the counter. It looked like some kind of map but Emma could not make out what it was. She took out some money to pay but the woman just shook her head again. 

"Tu presente.  Ve y encuentra tu destino."

It felt as if the woman wanted her to leave the shop, and Emma thanked her in Spanish and then with the little map and the bottle clutched in her left hand she left the shop. 

She was just in time for the taxi.  She showed the little map to the driver and he told her in broken English that it was not far away from here. 

She was so curious she asked him to take her there immediately. They drove down a very narrow little street and made a few turns, and then it was right in front of them. It was the most beautiful magical garden that Emma had ever seen in her life, and in the middle of the garden was the most beautiful fountain she had ever seen. 

She asked the driver to stop the car and wait for her. She walked towards the garden and noticed that the gate was open. It looked like a park of some kind, and she carefully opened the gate.
