Catering To Convenience: 25-Year-Old Starts His Own Uber-Style Salon Business

in #business5 years ago

These days, there are many people who want convenience more than they even want quality.

Increasingly, we see that businesses and various developments (self-serve kiosks etc) have been springing up to cater to that trend.

Whether it's getting mobile windshield repair, mobile car repairs, mobile gyms, mobile gas-refueling, mobile shopping options, mobile dog grooming, mobile dental care, there are a variety of ideas that have been thought of to try and bring a higher quality of life and standard of living to many.

Why not mobile hair service?

Most people might find going to the barber to be somewhat of a chore, and having that barber come to your home instead can add a lot of extra comfort and convenience to the experience overall.

To be fair, there are already at-home options with various hairstylists working privately in different areas, but now one 25-year-old from the UK is looking to bring the service to even more people with his Uber-style business.

After winning a business competition, D. Tenkorang sought to create his own Uber-style hair business and called it TRIM-IT.

Already, they've bought five custom made vans (like the one shown above) and they employ at least our barbers full-time that are able to drive right to people's homes to offer their services.

They continue to see high demand.

Not only does it bring convenience to the people who need to get a cut, but it also provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs to sell and offer a more personalized experience to the client, with recommending specific hair care products etc that most clients might not be exposed to otherwise.

Overall, clients want convenience and good value and this is an opportunity for entrepreneurs to meet that need in bringing the services that they want right to their doorstep.

The global hair care market is expected to reach more than $100 billion by 2024.

This industry today is still dominated by mostly single-owner establishments and many people who go to a barber or salon will often go back to the same one for several years. However, we have seen various franchises and chains start to become more common, with popular franchises such as Great Clips, Supercuts, Sports Clips, and more.

Chances are that a growing portion of that market might go toward convenient business endeavors such as those mobile options which have already come around, and others that might be soon to come.
