The New Age Of Dentistry: Straight To Your Door

in #news8 years ago

In today's economy, many consumers are interested in convenience and they have opened-up the market for a number of business ventures to become established that seek to meet the customers needs in the most convenient and quickest ways. And the dental market might be ready for a disruption.

There are a number of convenient mobile services available these days and the trend continues to explode. The food truck business is completely saturated, with that came the clothing mobile business where stores actually pull up outside of your house with all of the merchandise inside the truck and you do your shopping inside. There is also pedicure trucks, mobile window repair services, mobile gyms and mobile play rooms for children, and now mobile dentists.

Mobile vans/trucks have been around for many years in some variety, but it looks like the industry might be getting newly disrupted now that more people than ever are looking for to-their-door services of all sorts. There are a number of businesses that have sprung up in this space, of mobile dentistry, and they seek to provide dental services for home-bound or work-bound patients and others who would rather have the convenience of the dentist coming straight to their door.

It's estimated that around 25 percent of Americans just don't bother even going to the dentist at all.

Not many people enjoy the experience of going to the dentist, and for some people they don't have a means or are simply incapable of getting there (perhaps they're refined to assisted living? etc) and for those clients, this service is a great option for them.

Aside from those in assisted living situations and those who aren't keen on visiting a dentist office, there are also many busy working professionals who simply don't have the time to get to the dentist because they work all day during the week. This is where mobile dentist services can come in to meet the need, and they've already started partnering with corporations like Google and Dropbox in order to help their employees meet their dental needs.

The Dental Uber

There really is an opportunity to re-brand the dental experience, creating an alternative to the standard, and making the experience one that's much more comfortable for the client. And after their dental services, the client won't need to worry about finding their way home.

The vans can be fully equipped with the modern technology.

A number of these mobile-dental businesses have already sprung-up around the US and Canada. And they can perform a number of services: oral assessment, cleaning, dental polishing, oral cancer screening, teeth whitening, and more.

I'd use it. Now where's my mobile massage!

That's called room service ;)

Very smart setup... I imagine these rigs are fairly costly, but probably by comparison to the cost of a fixed base of operation not too bad; maybe even cheaper overall? 😄😇😄

@creatr

yes they did say that their services were fairly cheaper than regular dentist charges

I don't think we get them in the UK but sounds a great idea :)
