How to Post-Market Your Blog Post - Nobody Likes to Earn Pennies for Hard Work!

in #blog7 years ago (edited)

Every Steemian knows the feeling of putting blood, sweat and tears into a masterful blog post, that nobody reads, upvotes or comments on. End result, a week later, your author rewards are a nickel. Wah wah wah. It sucks and can be very discouraging. All that good work that ended up in the ether, seen by no one.

But wait, after you've proofread, added tags and generally cleaned up, you're not finished. Just by hitting the post the post button doesn't mean you're finished. There are plenty of helpful post-marketing tools and forums that you can use to get your post in front of more eyeballs.

Discord Channels

You will need to register your steemit account with them.

@minnowsupport runs a discord channel designed to promote, obviously, minnows. It's a great chat room with many different rooms for those with varying interests. One is exclusively for receiving upvotes on your blog posts. This discord channel was created by @aggroed, one of the good guys on the platform. They also go by the name P.A.L.(Peace, Abundance,Liberty). To join their chat, follow this link: https://discord.gg/GUuCXgY

@whaleshares runs a discord channel similar to @minnowsupport which has many discussion rooms to use for various topics. They also offer an exclusive room for post-promotion of blog posts. Where they are different is that @whaleshares has created a token which can be purchased on bitshares or won through contests. You will need to open a bitshares account. Once you have whaleshare tokens you can use them to purchase an upvote from a whale on a specific post of your choosing. A great guide on using this process was written by @jphenderson, linked below. This product is the brainchild of @officialfuzzy and a great way to find a whale vote when you need it! The link to join whaleshares discord channel is linked below as well.

Steemit.chat

Steem.chat or steemit.chat, either one will do, is a great place to direct message someone you'd like to communicate with in private, participate in the general chat room or post-promote your latest blog post. Register at: https://steemit.chat/home Thanks to @riverhead and @cass for their hard work on the site.

Steemitbc.slack.com

Steemitbc.slack.com is the brainchild of @sflaherty. They have a great chat room in their general tab, follower-central and an upvote-central tab for post-promotion of your blog posts. The unique thing that @steemitbc does is they will cross promote your blogs across their twitter and facebook accounts.

Purchasing Post-Promotion

There are a few ways to spend a little SBD to make a little money on your posts. We've already discussed whaleshare tokens, here are a few more:

@Randowhale. The concept here is that randowhale will upvote your post with up to a 5% whale vote. You transfer @randowhale $2 SBD and paste your desired post address in the memo section and hit submit. Within a minute you will see how much of an upvote you received. I've had great success with randowhale, I wouldn't recommend using him until their is some reward built up on your post if you want to get the full effect. Note: You don't always win using randowhale.

@booster. This is my new favorite. What you do with booster is you bet as much or as little as you like and that will determine your payout. Every 2.4 hours, @booster pays out a 100% vote to all those who submitted a post in that 2.4 hour window. The amount of your payout will be determined on what percentage of the prize pool you gambled upon submission.

Just like we discussed with randowhale, you would go to your wallet -> sbd -> transfer -> send to @booster -> choose the amount you'd like to submit -> add the post address in the memo section -> hit submit -> wait. A fun concept created by @fyrstikken and the @booster team.

@lovejuice. This is another fun gambling promotion. This the penny slots of steemit! Every 36 minutes, @lovejuice, gives away .80 cents. The breakdown of who gets the money is based on how many entrants in that period and how much they bet. Once again, you pick a blog post of yours and put it in the memo section of the wallet transfer window and send it off to @lovejuice. Minimum bet is .01 SBD. If you're the only bet in that window, you'll get the whole 80 cents. Note: I never bet more than .05 sbd. This is another great project brought to you by @aggroed.

I'm sure there are plenty of other post-promotion apps being formulated right now by all of the talented dev's on this platform, but these are a few that you can try out.

Just remember, after you've hit post on your latest blog, don't just sit there and let it wither on the vine, get out there and use some of these tools to promote your hard work. SteemOn!

Your stuff is badass! Love it! Followed you! :D Let's wake up the world!

Yes, lets wake them up.

Very useful info for any hard-working Steemian who’s producing original quality content, but still feels like they’re not getting enough rewards for it. The resources you listed in your post should help such Steemians. Kudos!

Thanks @oleg326756 for reading. The article is meant to help the frustrated minnow. Trust me, I use them all.

@wakeupsheeps,
Great article and summarized well. This post will help most of new steemians and to the community as well. Really appreciate your effort!

Cheers friend~

I hope it helps the minnows, @theguruasia, that's the whole purpose. Thanks for reading.

This was a really great post. I knew about some of these but not all. I do like that many sources help minnows earn more. It's a shame it's so hard to bring in actual readers though. I'd love to have readers and commenters on some of my most time consuming posts. This one deserves a resteem.

Thanks @marxrab. That one took me near on 2 hours and it was mostly for noobs, but some of those services I've only recently started using, so it is knowledge for many people. I'll look out for your stuff specifically. My new focus is having interactions, not about new followers, unless they have something engaging to say.

I think that's a good plan. I think for me interactions make me consistent earnings. And things like minnow support and randowhale are backups. Since I started I've spent most of my time weeding out the good people to interact with. In the long term it is good to focus on building relationships because you can make consistent earnings interacting with steemers here to actually read, write, and interact. It's hard to find them though. Good luck!

Hi, upvoted!:) Nice post:) By the way, did you know: whales can't swim backwards.

I didn't know that. Thanks for reading @ergoproxy.

nice post we wait the new thank you for the share and good lock
