What do you think?

I am in the midst of contemplating some major lifestyle changes. Some of the details I will share with my readers here in a week or two. It is so important that we intentionally live the lives that we choose, not just the lives that circumstances force onto us.

Some of my thoughts on this topic you can find in my previous post. Here is the link:

Are you tired yet?

Once you start changing things, everything is suddenly up for discussion. As a result, I am carefully considering my Steemit journey. Maybe you are too. It is impossible for a minnow like myself to be successful here without investing a substantial amount of time. And it is unwise to invest a substantial amount of time without considering the cost carefully.

I want to ask your help with my deliberations. There are two questions I want to ask. Should you help me by answering these questions here in the comments, I offer you two things in return.

  1. I will upvote every comment answering my questions with a 100% upvote. My upvote is currently valued at $0.10.
  2. You will get a chance to win 2 SBI shares that will bring you upvotes for life every time you post.

Are you interested? I hope so, as I'm really looking forward to reading your answers. But before we get to the questions, let's just clarify the above offers.

  • I will suspend some of my other activities and make sure I upvote your answers with 100% VP as soon as I'm able but within 7 days of you making the comment.
  • This offer lasts until this post pays out. A winner will be announced 8 days from today.
  • Upvote your own comment when you post it. It will benefit you when I add my upvote.
  • Only answers to my questions will be upvoted. Not random comments or 'nice post'.
  • Check out @steembasicincome to learn more about SBI.

Steem Basic Income is a social experiment to bring a basic income to as many Steemians as possible. Members join by sponsoring others into the program. Steem Basic Income is delivered through providing regular upvotes to member content.

  • I have complete discretion in who will win the SBI shares. One person may win both shares or it can be shared by two people. My choice will be based on whose answers helped me the most in my deliberations.
  • At least 5 people need to respond with answers for the SBI shares to be awarded.

Without further ado, here are the questions.

1. What do you think the future of Steemit looks like?

I know you are not an expert. To be an expert you need have been studying Steemit for about 10 years longer than what Steemit exists. But what do you think? And why do you think so? A link to someone else's opinion will also be welcome.

2. Personal advice

This is more relevant if you have read more than one of my blog posts but you have permission to be brutal. What do you think I should be posting on? What should I change? Do you think my approach has a future on Steemit? (Compliments, while appreciated, will not enhance your chances to win. Good advice will.)

Please help me. I look forward to your responses!

What do you think the future of Steemit looks like?

Steemit has some wonderful people building onto system trying to secure future blockchain social media. All social media platform are by design hold you there within their platform only, think of the time spent on Facebook where you are not paid for anything.

Going into the future I do believe social media will slowly move onto blockchain technology, whether the likes of Facebook make the move or not as a whole I do not know, Facebook being the biggest has indicated moving to crypto currency use, being a business finance is foremost.

Tsu was the first on blockchain technology social platform, a fun place where we met many Steemit users, sadly that turned into a site where no restrictions were put into place to stop plagiarism. They shut their doors, however had introduced a lovely concept on how social media could be used to be financially viable to everyone.

Steemit witnesses will hopefully stream-line this to assist in growth, crypto has to settle down after recent highs. People making huge amounts have lost interest, my thoughts on this is to be there through good and bad times, support each other, what you give you get. Not all of us will earn massive amounts in here, we can only hope to shape a better future.

No one can promise what tomorrow will bring. Ubuntu is an ancient African word meaning 'humanity to others'. It also means 'I am what I am because of who we all are'. Very successful software programmers have run on this concept, support coming from members only. (Thinking of @kryptonia )

Personal advice....

Sharing life and what it has meant to you has been informative, working within religious charity support it is always good to let people know a little about you as a person and how life has carved your path.

Charity work is on-going, reminding people is never lost on others, (religions and politics I never comment, this is a personal choice). Helping others earn, where they perhaps had never previously, in sharing in what you have learned here has been inspiring to many.

Speak from the heart, a firm believer that Quality outweighs Quantity every time. When planning a week I stick with the 80/20 theory (good blogging standard) 80 percent joining in and sharing photography, contests, challenges, blogging about environment, cultures, history; 20% in what you do in pastoral works, crypto etc.

Main thing is to find balance in family and life. African Proverb "When an old man dies, a library burns to the ground." - This sums up learning and sharing for me, to grow we learn, share and move on, if sharing does not take place how will the next generation know the history to move forward overcoming previous mistakes.

Your post has been selected to be entered into @teamsouthafrica's Daily Nominated Post section in Teamsouthafrica's Discord group. Congratulations!

I'll do my best and give you my perspective.

  1. Reward-based social and content platforms will necessarily rise in the near future. Steem will either be one of them or watch newcomers succeed while slowly bleeding out.
So far, the opportunities for growth have been traded for cash. And the weight at the top is proving a burden for the base to carry. Next year will decide it, possibly just the next six months. A lot of expectations are riding on the coming hard forks. Which can't come soon enough.
Now me, I am a pessimist by nature. It's going down. But I have not found a likely challenger either. There is still time.

  2. From what I can tell by reading your posts and checking your activity, your approach is fine. In fact, you are doing much better than I could.
Personally, I would never keep up posting daily, and I doubt it is necessary, either. If you realize it's becoming a chore, by all means, slow down, stop, recharge, re-evaluate.
And obviously, you should be posting about whatever you find interesting.
I realize I am turning your own advice on you. I will apologize for that. It was good advice!

  1. What do you think the future of Steemit looks like?
Bleak. Nine out of 10 of the 1M people who have signed out here are currently inactive and less than 10K of those who remain are "people who matter."

The redfish number on this chart was growing slowly and got to about 170K in January. Now it's dropping fast.

I too am thinking of quitting or slowing down here and you can see this on my feed. I feel there is:

  • too much confusion and infighting at the top
  • too many barriers to entry
  • too many hoops to jump through to succeed
  • lack of support or respect for little people
  • few people here at all compared to other social media.
  1. Personal advice
I read and love your posts as you know. I have no idea what your other options are and how you would spend your time. If you stay - I would focus on your most important message and post on that exclusively.

I am thinking of dropping down to one quick post a day here and going back to my other social media.

My biggest mistake (post coming soon) has been putting all my eggs in the steemit basket over the last year. I am scrambling now to get something going on my other platforms RIGHT NOW or I will be out on the street in weeks.

I've been reading whale/witness posts in the last week and found nothing to give me hope for the future of steemit. But based on my current level of panic I am probably not the right person to ask.

Resteeming :)

Here are my thoughts:

  1. I think steemit will still be functional for the next ten years or more for people hunger for something that they get value of what they worked for. Besides, the platform is well crafted so it will withstand for long for as long there are people liked us who will prioritize it.
  2. I have been an avid follower to your posts eversince i started kryptonia. Your posts are so meaningful and i got some lessons or reminders for me to think about. Only that your posts are too long. Some people like me are too busy and i have only limited time to read. If possible, not too long. Make it concise.

#1- I'm new to Steemit as well and trying to learn the ins and outs is a bit daunting. A friend of mine convinced me to get involved and I am constantly bombarding him with questions and asking for suggestions on how to go about getting more upvotes and steem. He did make an interesting point to me today that in the likelihood that there is a major recession next year that the price of crypto will soar. I am spending a lot more time trying to come up with ideas for posts and surfing for things I find interesting and spending a lot less time stressing over the latest scandal in the news or on social media. It's a win win for me

#2- I have only read your previous post but I very much enjoyed it and I think you could continue with the inspirational and motivational inspired posts. You may include some personal antedotes or successes to get more of a following or maybe interview a friend or acquaintance and relay their triumphs. Just an idea .
Visiting by way of Kryptonia

The cryptocurrency market is very unstable, however we must trust and above all we must be happy with what we have, it does not matter if it is too much or too little. quote your sentence: "life is now"

As a Tsu veteran and also running a charity I have learn't many things over time! Disappointment! Perseverance! Planning! and a few other things has certainly helped me along the way, but sadly too many birds in the bush, or irons in the fire as they say can only lead to catastrophes!
Stress is another factor and eventually it all culminates in ill heath!
After almost 18 years of this I have not willingly, but was forced to make some drastic changes and today we are all the better for it.
All strength to you in your decisions and I hope you let your heart lead you in your choices!
No need to consider us for any awards, as I have only replied to the #dailynominatedpost! Blessings and upvoted! @reonlouw

in the present time steemit had already established its purpose. so what more in the future, i know that steemit will be successful all the way till the next decade.

i think everybody on steemit must know the right tags to use in every post for it to be successful.

greetings from kryptonia

steemit is a social network that is on the rise, many times the currency has highs and lows but after almost touching the bottom I trust that it will rise again and we will succeed all of us who are part of it :)

  1. I really don't know what steemit would be in the future (for always no one knows what tomorrow may brings.) But I really believed steemit would last long or might even overpowered facebook in days to come. I'm even planning of getting my little Fabio (2yr-old) a steemit account. That's how I believe in this platform.

  2. I just came across to your post because of kryptonia. But the moment I read on your posts...all were great! Not to just compliment you, but really you inspired me. Please continue posting, I am now your follower.
