TEACHING LITERATURE IN SECONDARY SCHOOL; THE BEST TACTIC TO TEACHING LITERATURE A DETAILED SUBJECT.

literature is basically one of the most detailed subjects in secondary school and teaching it requires more than patience and virtue for instance I would like to remind you that literature is an art,and art requires talent, so how about if you're teaching a student who doesn't have talent about art? Amidst many other things we can call art for example being able to master a grand piano and dazzle a large audience is considered an art, however a person who has taken years to practice and a person who just had it in them, will be quite different because of that thin line called talent.

IS TEACHING ALSO AN ART?

I would rather say teaching requires scopes, tactics, understanding systematic approach and total mastery.
When you see a rather amazing and brilliant student, there will always be a wonderful teacher who has taken time to groom, instill and install a rather unique and systematic approach to learning.

No kid, pupil or high school student is limited to capacity of knowledge which they can take in, but for a student to thrive it's sixty percent dependent on the teacher.
However all subjects are truly not the same for examples history requires coignitive and retentive memory, much quite difficult than studying mathematics which requires you to think, deduce, act, remove, replace and a whole lot more.

Now with all due respect as much as I respect the two subject in teaching students there will require a whole lot more from a mathematics teacher if not the students in general will remain undeveloped and their potential nay never get to be unlocked.

HOW I TAUGHT LITERATURE TO STUDENTS

growing up, I had already started scribbling poems on papers and already started watching TV host reciting literature on line so when I started studying literature in high school, it wasn't hard for me to grow as a master, now I have to remind you, my teacher was very terrible and never took time to develop us, we did literature on the theory aspect and never did put it in practice as a result of this many of my friends lost their way and even the ones with potential were all snuffed out as a result of a teacher who never got to master the right approach to teaching a subject so complex as literature.

WHAT WERE MY SELLING POINT AS A LITERATURE TEACHER?

FIRST A TOTAL MASTERY OF THE SUBJECT.

when you're applying to be a teacher, yoh need to know two hundred percent of what you're into, in my country here, students like to undermine their teacher by asking them questions that are out of the box, I mean yet inside the subject and when you understand so little of what you're going to teach then that makes you an empty well, there is no way students are going to tap from you when you can't go extra miles when the topic you are teaching expands a bit.

For examples a student may just ask you a question during class way out of the box, and that's why you should know beyond the school curriculum and scheme of work.
Absolute mastery of the subject is the first to start with.

TALK WITH ANECDOTE WHEN TEACHING

in a subject that requires a whole lot of concentration, teenagers tend to be carried away on their iPhone their apples when a teacher seems a bit boring.
Now when if you've got the point stated above you still will not be able to impact knowledge.

** What are anecdotes? They ate small storties related to what is being discussed at s particular place in time. For example trying to describe the blight of a bad woman you can use Delilah in the Bible and create a powerful anecdote, niw when you do this, the class seems a bit jivey.
Infant study has proved it that the mind is better at remembering things that happens around the event of something, rather then the main event itself.**

MAKE THE CLASS CONVERSATIONAL

teacher teachings alone is probably too quit drives students mad. As a teacher, create avenue for students to ask questions in your class, allow the liberty to ask questions and engage the students in an opinionated approach and then ask them to statw their thesis with what you taught them, then watch the results.

Never forget to exceptional students away, blow their trumpet when they maybe write a poem well or do well with figures of speeches, believe me it psyches them.

REPEAT IMPORTANT POINTS AND PHRASES AGAIN AND AGAIN

the thing with learning us that student hardly excels from what they read, but from what they've learnt and stored deep into the mind.
That's why in class when teaching let's say characterization, always remember to leave certain words rooted into their mind, as this may help them to connect words together whenever they're faced with the challenge of remembering what you taught them.

CONCLUSIONS

Being a teacher is quite amazing when you see the development of the little minx or teenagers you're teaching.

However teaching requires certain degrees and level of enhancement and that is why done subjects are difficult to teach, because some teacher never followed tbe fundamental methods and systems.

You got good points. I was also a literature student when I was in secondary school and it's a wide subject as you've once said. Not easy to teach and not for empty head students

Yes quite correct too. thank you for the comment bro,
