Which Is The Most Secure Cloud Storage Service Available Today?
For a long time I've been using multiple hard drive and flash drive based solution to backup certain crucial data and it has worked great for me as my location is secure and nothing leaves the house.
But If you are looking to store media, maybe back up some videos or music most online cloud storage would be fine I suppose. But what if you want to backup private information and any sensitive data? Your Steemit Masterkey?
Hard drives can fail, they can accidentally fall and so many things can happen. It so happened to me that once I dropped a hard drive thanks to a puppy I was fostering at home jumped on me when I was connected to the drive and my reflex action made me move my laptop which pulled the drive off the desk and sent it crashing to the floor. Shit happens.

Couple of years ago I also had my things stolen along with my laptop and it's impossible to retrieve information when you are on the road and something of this sort happens. It's fine if it happened and you can access your backup hard drives an hour later but that's not always the case.
Do you trust in any particular service provider with information like this? Please don't suggest iCloud. What about passwords you don't want to store on Lastpass or password managers?
As they say, it's only a matter of time till an online storage solution gets hacked. However, we've certainly come a long way in terms of security with AES-256 encryption enabled services.
I've now basically narrowed down to the services provided by Sync.com. I like the fact that they have 2 factor enabled logins in addition to a whole lot of other interesting features. Their free service fits my bill for now as I'm not looking to store large amounts of data just yet but eventually I'd like to backup 2-3TB of data online.
I'm already using Zoolz and have a 1TB account there but it's very slow, the features on the desktop app aren't good and the download speed is crap!
If you are aware of any service that's better than 'Sync' feel free to let me know in the comments below. There are many reviews online but I'm looking for some personal feedback from anyone here with some expertise in the domain.

I basically use the google drive. And didn’t used cloud storage for sensitive thing but I love to use this in coming months
It's a bitter true that all the cloud storages are hackable. So it is not able to memorize our master key. I am using mobile app to store password of multiple accounts. Password manager @firepower is it safe to keep my key there?
Last pass is down right the best for password management but this is more than just managing passwords.
I use lastpass to store not only passwords but all private keys, passphrases etc. If you have big data, why not something like siacoin? Data gets fragmented all over the miners and you could do the encryption yourself although I think it is already encrypted by your sia key. I am curious in your final choice, I have same desire. I looked into sia a year ago or so but the only way was to run a node yourself, quite difficult on a mobile airtel solution :-)

That's interesting. However despite using Last pass for ages now I don't keep my master keys there. I'm just unnecessarily paranoid i suppose after the last theft that someone can get access to my things after stealing it from me. When you're in crypto full-time, one cannot take security lightly i guess.
@erode hacking storage is one thing and getting access to data is entirely different. AES-256 encrypted data is not easy to decrypt if at all as per my knowledge. I think I've found a way to encrypt data even before uploading now. Will probably piece this together for a post later.
Yes ,definitely it is very tough to find out lost things in this world of internet, you are smart people so are able to revive your lose.I am very backward in technically,so all my necessary things have been settled by my son.Any way thanks for the valuable share, have a great time dear.
If you are trying for just images and videos, I think you can check out OpenAsset. If for password too then I would suggest Google or AWS, nothing is secure than these two.
Security maybe if you host data upto 15gb on an email that's not connected to any of your devices, privacy of data on Google cannot be trusted. I guess Sync is the best so far with its AES-256 encryption even sync.com cannot access your data and neither can a hacker from what I understand so far. Need to double check everything. I was asking to find out if there's something even better.
Good information
It's hard to draw your mouth part dude 😂
I think you should stop right there before i flag lol
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
hooo I won't try it anymore 😁😁😁
lol
I think google drive @firepower. In my opinion google drive is the most trusted cloud storage option.. U can store data of around 15 gb for free of cost. If u need more , you can expand it. I have used many cloud storage service providers like mi cloud, iCloud, jio cloud storage.etc. Google provides you a better security options than others.
Even if someone knows your password, it becomes difficult to logging to your account. There are many security options ...
Here u may find the devices u signed with the particular id.
If u lose your phone , u will be able to lock the same by this settings and sign out from all other devices too.
I'm already using this for many years however but it seems you missed the part in the post where data privacy and security is of utmost importance. I wouldn't want extremely crucial and private data on Google's servers. There's a reason why Swiss vaults exist to provide complete secrecy. Even the people holding your item might not know what they are holding there, not the same thing with holding private info on Google where if someone gets access to your phone for example also somehow manages to access your data... Also they don't provide the kind of data encryption you need. Example whatsapp data is encrypted but not when you're hosting it on Google drive. :)
