Stratis platform full node soon available on Microsoft Azure.

If you follow me, you must know that I have high hopes for Stratis. Very high hopes. I wrote a few posts about Stratis since I started here.

Anyway, July is going to be an important month for them if they get to release on time according to their roadmap.

Today Stratis tweeted the following:

It seems that they're on track to release their Breeze wallet, that will do the coin good. But a much bigger thing will be happening soon as well. That is the finalization of their full node in Azure. That's big news. Real big.

Here's what they say about it:

Stratis Cloud Update : Azure Certification

We are happy to report that we have made important advancements in bringing the Stratis Platform Full Node to the Microsoft Azure Certification program. We are currently in the last stages of this process. When the process is concluded we expect to have our full node deployed on the Azure Marketplace. This will enable us to leverage support from the different Microsoft business groups and initiatives around blockchain development. It will also serve to provide the first functional Proof of Concept, showcasing our Stratis Full Node capabilities. Simplifying deployment for developers from around the world. We expect to have this finalized by the end of the current week.

First functional proof of concept, fully deploy able out of the Azure marketplace. Very good news for us Stratis believers.

Wow ...

I - as a C# developer who is now directing a company - definitely love Stratis. But how do you see it for none .NET developers/companies? For example there is Lisk as another to-be-popular blockchain platform written in JavaScript.

What do you think?

I've looked into my magic eight ball and it told me this:

Ethereum does DAPPS in their own language, Stratis does it with C#. Lisk indeed with Javascript. To each their own. But... where will developers go to? If hardly any apps will be developed for Stratis or Lisk... only Ethereum survives. But I figure in the beginning none of these platforms will be left aside... each will have their niche to begin with.

If one platform all of a sudden grows dramatically then one of these 3 will suffer most. Because of Stratis being implemented in Azure I think Lisk, in that scenario, will barely survive.

Ethereum is an established blockchain and will be there strong. Eyes are now on LSK and STRAT and I personally hope Startis moons.

Stratis will moon! C#. Microsoft Azure.

Lisk I don't know. No moon I think. Don't reckon many developers will board that ship.

I was a heavy .NET/C# dev for over 15 years, switched back to javascript and TypeScript.. don't really care for C# anymore. Loving Lisk, and it sure did take off in past week. wrote about Lisk here: https://medium.com/@chauey/lisk-guide-for-crypto-fans-unicorn-edition-1320a62dc20a

Layman terms... I'm going to try and explain what I know that I think matters:

A new and improved typ of wallet for millions to use. It has support for all those millions of bitcoin users so that's why it's very interesting. It gives them more privacy for example.

As Stratis is basically a BAAS company (Blockchain As A Service) the full node in Azure will eventually be a blockchain node that business can easily buy from the Azure marketplace and with that they have their own sidechain on which they can run their own apps and smart contracts. (Just as with Ethereum but they only have 1 chain... and we all found out that 1 single app brought the platform on its knees)

Thanks for the explanation. I have a much better understanding now. Looks like Stratis is sitting around the 10th spot in terms of Market Capitalization with a market cap of $693 billion. Do you think Strat could be a top 5 coin?

I think Stratis deserves to be higher. Architecturally and technically they have a much better base to work with than Ethereum has for example. Because of their sidechains the entire platform cannot be brought down by 1 single DAPP. In my opinion that's a very key feature. And because of those sidechains, every company can get their own Stratis blockchain and yet connect to the decentralized full network.
