My roadtrip on The Roadchain.

in #blockchain8 years ago (edited)

This was not meant to be a networking article.

It was designed to be a chill trip accross Europe a relaxing experience, one of so many.it was both, and it was rewarding also.
But I lost my interest of writing an article about a road-trip through Europe.there is nothing original to it.
I experienced difficulties obstacles and problems on a daily basis on the professional drivers life.
You can blame bad roads and bad communications about most of their problems.mainly the second.
That obstacles have been given birth to an idea of a chained road.An alive network that delivers info on the "Roadchain" in a decentralized way.

I will give a quick glance of our roads history.their past their present and probably their future.

Roads does not sound that interesting.

Road is called a landmark from point a to point b.To move anything around 2 points you will need to consume energy, that much we all know.

Energy consumption 2012 EU chart

Roads connect not just points on the map though. They connect humans, they provides transactions and goods, they are the building stone of our society.and they are getting outdated compared to our modern needs.
Unless you leave at Netherlands the chances are you don't like your network that much.Like I don't like Greece's networks that much.that being said.
Imagine what if we could decentralize our roads, allow microeconomics to play the role big private capitals have on our networks.should happen sooner or later, cars could be miners on their own Micro-economy.Think about that for a second.

The very first roads are rumored to have started by humanity when they where still hunters by carving the land while they where walking on it daily to stale their pray then back to their settlements.
The world's oldest known paved road was constructed in Egypt some time between 2600 and 2200 BC
check out the wiki page to see more details on that matter it is interesting. Our networks have not develop much other than being wider and safer than they used to be over the last 50 years.
A micro-economic model like steemit or something maybe more specific could help to achieve something that would be revolutionary for our world.Cars generating capital on the go.Rewarded from being good contributors to the chain and mining a lot of km on them.
Imagine how a network like this would eventually evolve. It would be like a living organism a self sustained network to be exact.it is within our reach,we can do it.
we can communicate information through headlights and taillights of vehicles with the light-fi technology that we have up and running.ipfs would be useful probably.
We could use that network to share weather data providing decentralized services to the drivers about weather entertainment and more.
Micro-economies will be the most important factor for our future we should embrace them.Develop Them.evolve Them.
There is a need to bridge our technological gap on our streets.after all road transportation plays a great role to our growth as a society. check this chart.

I will now try to get your heads around some numbers and stats.my apologies.but that was inevitable
You have to read this.

You know cars will be electric driven on the near future right.by 2050 there won't be any fuel charged vehicles on the European Network, not just tesla the entire industry will swift to it.
humans probably wont have to drive around their cars, they will be rather entertained or educated or even work there.
that means cars will be Pc's on wheels with some fancy tech like geolocation sensors telemetrics to even Roadchain cores as a standard. Cars will generate the capital needed for funding the evolution of the network itself among other stuff like insurances and so on.
the "Roadchain" will probably evolve to be a global network .Apps could utilize this block-chain to provide services like hiking services something like uber

(Own work)
where you could get to a settlement to move between points on a map by getting an agreement from a driver on the chain.

Potentials of the "Roadchain"

The potential on this project is huge but the rewards could be even bigger. There won't be any need for tolls that could be automated and settled on the fly with micro-payments directly from the vehicle.you shouldn't even care.
traders could arrange their cargo by prioritizing the truck/cars that are nearest their facilities.Professional drivers would be benefit the most out of such technology.especially the small owners of a truck, they could compete for cargo deals on the fly by taking advantage of their near location and make better counter offers to the other parties. Prices for transporting goods would drop because there will be a highest level of efficiency for the involved parties. This could save million of dollars/euros in gas and related charges.they could get to agreements and deals assigned by apps that run on the blockchain with free market terms.Centralization will stop suffocate small businesses.and instead will give them a competing window to survive.
Those trucks would generate capital as they will move on the chain and they will contribute to its evolution.Cars will have wallets assigned and they will be easily traceable.no more thefts will ever occur.there is not even a need for a conventional lock on the cars anymore.

Concluding

We are near the down of a new era,we are on the front door of our evolution as a specie and if we want to achieve that we need to make our transportation economy self sustained and something rewarding instead of punishing.
Laws are more often than they should punishing as a result transportation expensive.if we could change that, we can change everything.as every road connects every human decentralizing the roads will lead to a decentralized world.A new kind of society.
we should consider our priority to get our transportation network to the next level.
to the decentralized era.
