For those new to Cardano, here's a short list of its mass appeal:

• Scalability: Built to operate more efficiently with less DApp dev costs than current smart contract platforms and to accommodate the future demands of billions of users.

What is CryptoGrill?

Key to decentralization is the ability of stakeholders to delegate stake. In a proof of stake system such as Cardano, stakeholders have an obligation to take part in the protocol.

To make this practical, stakeholders are able to delegate their obligations to others — so-called stake pools — which are able to fulfill the obligations. Stake pools operate core nodes that are online at all times and take part in the protocol and produce blocks in the blockchain.

CryptoGrill is one of these nodes.

KEVM is a framework developed by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) with support from IOHK.

The team has modeled the world’s first complete, fully executable formal semantics of the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), and produced the KEVM framework, which allows for formal execution, analysis, and verification of EVM smart contracts.

It won 2017's IC3-Ethereum Crypto Boot Camp (a blockchain development event and competition).

What is IELE?

IELE is a variant of LLVM specialized to execute smart contracts on the blockchain. Its design, definition and implementation have been done at the highest mathematical standards, following a semantics-first approach with verification of smart contracts as a major objective.

Specifically, we have defined the formal syntax and semantics of IELE using the K framework, which in return gives us an executable reference model in addition to a series of program analysis tools, including a program verifier.

K was created by our team during the last 15 years and incorporates the state of the art in language design, semantics and formal methods.

Believing that school was too boring, he dropped out of High School early; only to earn an AA, BS and MBA in less than 4 years much later in life – while working full-time as a Navy/Marine Corps Medic.

In spite of a fear of heights and deep water, he performed high altitude, free-fall parachute jumps and hazardous diving ops in deep, open ocean water.

After 24 years of active duty, he retired in Asia.
