eco+, interactive interface for the STEEM blockchain for environmentalists and ethical vegans

in #blockchain6 years ago (edited)

Hi Steemians! Today I want to show you the visual style and category arrangement for the eco+ STEEM interface. It will collect posts from the blockchain and rearrange them in categories and/or position them on the world map.

Post contents:

  1. Mockups for the interface in 1920x1080. You can click on any picture and press F11 to see it in full screen.
  2. Latest list of THEORY-PERMACULTURE categories (5.3.2018.). You can add your own categories and posts right now. Read on.
  3. What technology will eco+ use for the interface on the STEEM blockchain?
  4. Latest list of supporters (5.3.2018.). If you want to be added, leave a comment below.

Below, the new homescreen mockup.
ECOPLUS-HOMESCREEN.png

Categories

eco+ will use the last tag from a post to position it inside the interface.

In eco+, TAGs grow into trees of categories.

The blockchain will recieve a TAG that's an abbreviation of the ROOT.

The interface will read the TAG as the whole ROOT, the position in the interface and the specific CATEGORY.

THEORY-PERMACULTURE.png

If you post in a sub-category, the post will automatically show up in all ROOT categories.

For example, if you make an article about Bill Mollison, the post will show up in the following categories:

PERMACULTURE,
PERMACULTURE/TOOLS,
PERMACULTURE/TOOLS/PERMACULTURAL DESIGN,
PERMACULTURE/TOOLS/PERMACULTURAL DESIGN/ACTIVISTS.

THEORY-PERMACULTURE-TOOLS-PERMACULTURALDESIGN.png

The category arrangement you see here is not fixed, more categories can be added.

You can propose a new category at any time.

THEORY-VEGANISM.png

Write a comment in the following layout:

CATEGORY: MICHAEL GREGER

ROOT: VEGANISM/TOOLS/NUTRIOTION RESEARCH/AUTHORS/MICHAEL GREGER

DESCRIPTION: A physician, an author, and a professional speaker on public health issues. His focus are the benefits of whole plant foods and the harms of eating animal products.

THEORY-VEGANISM-TOOLS-NUTRITIONRESEARCH.png

You do not need to specify the TAG, it will be generated by abbreviating the ROOT.

Just make sure your ROOT path is correct and all categories in it already exist. If they don't, make a parent category first.

THEORY-VEGANISM-TOOLS-PHILOSOPHYANDETHICS.png

If your proposition doesn't receive negative feedback, it will be added to the interface.

THEORY-VEGANISM-TOOLS-VEGANICPERMACULTURE.png

You can already post under the existing categories.

When the interface launches, you will be able to request permission for posting to the interface from your STEEM account.

If your account is confirmed, the interface will load your older posts and you will be able to create new posts.

Make sure the last tag in your post is the TAG of the category.

THEORY-SOCIOCRACY.png

Also, let me know by commenting on one of my posts and linking your article.

Below you can find the list of THEORY-PERMACULTURE categories.

Scroll through if you do not need to use them right now.

What technology will eco+ use for the interface on the STEEM blockchain?

The site needs to be fast, interactive, downsizable and infinitely scalable.

It needs to communicate well with the blockchain.

I have come up with the following setup:

CSS & HTML

HTML will be used with CSS for site styling, positioning of elements and toggling day/night modes.

JavaScript

JavaScript will be used to make the site interactive and for animations.

SVG

Scalable vector graphics will be used to make the content scalable, to reduce the size of the site and to ensure total interactivity.

STEEM-JS

The javascript API for STEEM will be used for the communication with the blockchain.

Google Maps JavaScript API

The Google Maps API will be used for PRACTICE in a similar way steemitworldmap.com uses it, but only limited to eco+ users.

If you have better ideas, please input your knowledge in the comment section below.

Hi guys! This seems to be a great project! It's like a big blockchain library about permaculture 6 vegan life, isnt it? Sign me in!

Hello @sunnybronx, you've got that right, it can be understood as a library.

You're in the supporters list!

You can post right now... Use one of the TAGs listed above for the last tag of your post. I've made them lower case so you can copy-paste it.

When we launch the interface, your posts will be automatically added to it if you're accepted in the community.

If you want some of your older posts without TAGs to be listed, you can leave a comment on one of my posts with the link to your article and the TAG you want it to be under, I'll manually include your post.

See ya, have a nice day! :)

Thanks...but on the interface you would like to have longer articles, no fotos from steepshot?

Ofcourse I would like long, quality articles.

As you can see STEEM organized itself meritocratically to reward longer posts with more coins and post visibility, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Since this platform is for both permaculturalists and vegans, problems might appear if a lot of homesteaders join the platform because of the differences in the ethical standards compared to the vegans... But that's a discussion for itself.

I know what you mean. I am vegetarian. Neither meateaters nor vegans like me...;)

Is it ok for you, if I would write an German article about your project?

That would be awesome! Go ahead! It would be cool if you translate it back to english too so we know what does it say :)

Hahahaa! Crossfire's the worst. Been there for years. Now I look back to every vegan I met like he's a pussy because he didn't confront me and set the stuff straight to me. I really didn't know the reality of milk production, the rape, the murder and the imprisonment...

I know about the horrible conditions of milk cows. I try to eat as less cheese as my addiction allows me and drink only vegan milk. What I eat often are eggs, there is nothing wrong with it for me

Going cold turkey did the job for me. The dopamine depletion lasts only for a few days/weeks, like with any addiction.

The problem with eggs is that the production must involve slaughter even if you're buying free range. The chickens must be kept at a 1:10 male to female ratio if you don't want the roosters to rape the chickens or the roosters to kill each other. The laying happens at a 1:1 ratio, depending on the conditions. Basic math tells you that to keep producing you must slaughter the males (or have infinite acreage of land to keep them separate).

I used to live in Bec, and met a lot of people from the Balkan there. So I learned some street language.
Ali malo.

Looks like a great effort. Ill definitely be following its progress

Awesome, thanks for the resteem! <3

Great ideas! I am in, just not 100% sure how to start haha!

Thanks! Cool, for now it's only important that we have your consent. Tomorrow I'll release the categories for VEGANISM so you can post to them using the TAG. On the other hand, I like your posts so much that I'm willing to include them all manually to the interface. If you want to spare me the trouble, wait up for the post tomorrow!

Haha thats so kind! Of course you can do that if you LIKE to, but otherwise I will look for your post tomorrow;)

This is an awesome initiative! I would like to be added.

Hey kooshikoo, nice to meet you! I'm glad you like the project.
