I Presented Bitshares to my Community Hack Night Compadres Last Night...
So for any of you who know me, I live by the beach here in Los Angeles. Most of the time, it feels like I am living in an extended version of the Cantina scene from Star Wars. I would suppose due to the fact that I recently fell below the poverty line but I digress ...
Our monthly Community Hack Night was attended somewhat lightly last night because of overlap with the Open Source Con event and Linus Torvolds (Mr. Linux himself!) being in attendance there. Still, perhaps thirty of us sat and listened as I showed off the OBITS/BTS pair on the Open Ledger DEX and highlighted some of the key differences between Bitcoin, BitShares, and Ether, notably:
BitShares' speed advantage, from faster block times due in part to dPOS structure;
BitShares' wallet advantage of handling many different coins. The transaction fees are so low on the DEX that you might ask why anyone would trade DOGE anywhere else!
Bitshares' ability to handle many, many more transactions per unit time than Ether or Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash.
Referral Program. BitShares already has it built on the blockchain. Users get credited for expanding the number of market participants, and the new participants still get really low transaction prices. Everyone wins!
My presentation was just a few minutes long with the message "Trade Crypto Faster" but I plan to expand my presentation and present BitShares again next month in October.
