🗞 Ecosystem Players Launch Ethereum Community Fund Grant Program

On February 15, 2018, several projects in the Ethereum space announced their combined effort to establish the Ethereum Community Fund (ECF), meant to hasten the development of blockchain infrastructure and Dapps.

Cosmos, OmiseGO, Golem, Maker, Global Brain Blockchain Labs, and Raiden embarked on this endeavor with the mission of producing "an environment where teams and ideas can thrive, grow, and collaborate to become essential and functioning pieces of the broader Ethereum ecosystem." It is anticipated that members of the ECF that are already well established will act as pillars for emerging projects by "building out base infrastructure and supporting a more robust ecosystem of emerging projects."

🗞 Game Maker Atari Is Planning to Launch Its Own Cryptocurrency

The company behind iconic video games such as Pac-Man and Pong is planning to launch its own cryptocurrency, dubbed "Atari Token," according to an announcement last week.

As part of the effort, Atari acquired a 15% stake in a Gibraltar-based company, Infinity Networks, Ltd and has licensed its brand to the firm. The partnership - which was previously hinted at in a December statement - will see the development of a digital entertainment platform underpinned by the so-called Atari Token. The game maker noted that its investment was "made without cash disbursement by Atari."

🗞 Western Union Confirms Testing Ripple Technology For Money Transfers

The financial services provider Western Union (WU) is testing transactions with the use of Ripple’s (XRP) Blockchain-based settlement system, the company’s Chief Financial Officer Raj Agrawal said in an interview with Bloomberg Feb. 14.

The globally known money transfer company Western Union confirmed that it is testing Ripple following more than a month of rumor-fuelled speculation that began in early January. The announcement comes after Western Union reported its 2017 results, claiming a revenue of $1.4 bln - a 5 percent increase over the previous year.

As you can see I was right and we are now testing the previous TOP. If the Bitcoin doesn't drop, I'm expecting that we should see a break out soon to break it with volume. A fail could send us towards the red line but it is not my 1st scenario.

I can't imagine giving anyone in Japan money for mining. Japan is a very expensive place to live and mining has only been in cheap or government subsidized (China) countries (Iceland).
Do you recommend a Ripple wallet that does not charge you? They all look like they want $20 worth of XRP...weird, weirder yet, is I have my XRP on Bitfinex which goes against what I preach...never, never keep your tokens on an centralized exchange.

I agree with you for japan but they have water to cool Mining rigs.
Concerning XRP, I didn't not know about this 20$ minimum, I should also store
Offline everything but I admit that I usually don't...

A lot of news supporting increased adoption across the space is very positive. It could gives the space an opportunity to surpass the $1 trillion market cap.
